the other big change the sfmta board made is be agnostic about the technology. as long as it was zero emissions and met our facility needs it would work. the other challenges we faced are on the funding side and i know that is something that we are collectively all focusing a lot of attention on. specifically for the facility program, the 2022go bond not passing was a significant setback, and on federal grants, we had a mixed result and that's not unique to san francisco. a lot of california properties are seeing that because we made such a large upfront invest ment in low emissions not necessarily getting as much federal support as we go to make that kind of final increment towards zero emissions. so, i am going to dive right into slide 34 in the interest of time and really focus on where we see things going in terms of next steps, because part of why we are here is to get policy direction before we bring a contract to the board of supervisors when you all are wearing that hat. so, the first step is that, part of the rebuild of potrero and rethinking of the tro

he started at sfmta 22 years ago. he was an electrical mechanic at green division. prior to that, he had worked at an an auto dealership right? so he, he really started at the very beginning of this industry. and now has has risen to this tremendous position. he became assistant supervisor of the graveyard at presidio yard in 2008 and a maintenance superintendent of our biggest bus division, woods, in 2013. and then has been holding both acting and permanent management roles since then, culminating in 2022. and he was appointed to his current position. louis is a champion on of his staff. there are very few people in this agency that are so deeply trusted and respected by the people who work for them, and i think it's because louis, while he is fully steeped in in deep into the administrative functions of his role, he still reads like a mechanic to the people that he that work for him. he walks the floor. he knows knows the people that work for him and he he let's he creates an environment where they can solve the problem. he's not trying to solve the problems . he'

we worked with sf, sfmta and sfpuc on a new ev network build out analysis to determine the most cost effective way to increase ev charging infrastructure. given the city's limited resources, the first step of the analysis was a memo examining the current state of the ev market as well as battery and charging technology to determine if the city may need fewer public ev charging stations. we found that reduced battery and vehicle costs, continued technological advancement and supporting policy actions are driving continued ev market growth as a result, charging demand is not estimated to decrease and in fact a lot more charging will need to be deployed to meet the city's ev targets. as nicole just laid out, the second step of our work was a cost benefit analysis by ev charging type to assess the cost effectiveness of different charging types. we were excited to share the results of this analysis with the group and to help inform san francisco's future. charging investments. i'll be available for the q&a portion at the end of the presentation, and now i'll turn it back to nicole. great.

we asked the sfmta director about those claims. >> one of the things that we're trying to understands to what degree are the concerns that valencia merchants are facing? to what degree is that directly related to the bikeway or is it related to other citywide factors? again, here in downtown san francisco, merchants are also really struggling. >> the bike lane is a pilot project set to end in august, but the sfmta can decide at any time to remove it. now to a warning about a really frustrating scam. this one has to do with one family trespassing into what they thought was their vacation home. the family booked the iowa rental on verbo, but it turns out the listing wasn't posted by the homeowner. yep. so they arrived to find a house that wasn't prepped for guests, but they let themselves in anyways through an unlocked door. the homeowner was out of town at the time. then this happens as the renters were dividing bedrooms, as the owner's friend just happened to drive by to check on the place. what are the chances of that? he then found the renters inside and they already started to not
