amy hollyfield is live at sfo. amy, passengers had to come to the rescue. >> reporter: it was a very violent attack on the pilot. at one point, one of men said when you fly to san juan, i will have you killed. here are pictures that passengers took of the incident. this is once the men left the plane. it all started on the plane. one of the men was sleeping. it appeared he was drunk. he wouldn't wake up and buckle his seat belt. the pilot decided to pull back to the gate and asked one of men to get off the plane. the brother decided to get off, too. then they turned violent on the pilot. here is a description and reaction to his role in the incident. >> it was really erratic. suspicious. bothering other passengers. so we left to go to take off and then the pilot brought the plane back. we ended up going back to take care of it. it was natural. just doing my duty, that's all. >> reporter: here are the mugshots of the brothers that were arrested. jonathan and luis baez were arrested. pilot was first hit in the eye po

the plane was bound for sfo. witnesses say the two men who were asked to get off the plane managed to get into a scuffle with the pilot. >> they were just acting really erratic. just really suspicious and like they were drunk and bothering other passengers. and so we left to go to take off and then the pilot brought the plane back. >> then they walked out and they were escorted out of the door of the plane. they were standing there arguing with the captain, they did not want to leave, they did not want to get off the plane. one of the guys punched the captain right in the eye right here in his face. >> and the pilot wasn't seriously hurt but he had to be replaced for the new flight. this is video of the plane which arrived at sfo from miami. now we understand at the time of the incident there were 178 passengers and six crew members on board at the time. police eventually made an arrest and the two men will no longer be flying the friendly skies with them. the fbi, tsa and local police were involved in this incid

the flight was delayed getting in here to sfo. it was supposed to land from miami at 11:45 and didn't land until 2 a.m. because of the drama in miami. these pictures are from one of the passengers on the plane. this is after the fight had already gone back to the terminal. according to passengers it started on the plane when two passengers were acting very strangely in the exit row. the pilot approached them, told them to get off. they did not want to get off the plane.a fight ensued. here's how one passenger described it. >> it's a scuffle that took place so about three or four of us went out there and tackled the guy. >> we were all really scared and we knew that these guys were really weird in the beginning and they shouldn't will be let on the plane because they were acting kind of funny and talking kind of weird and everything and they looked really, you know, different. and so it was pretty shocking that he punched the pilot. >> reporter: so it looks like it started with the pilot being punched on the plane and then ended on

a flight land at sfo after a wild trip from miami. witnesses saying of passengers coming to blow west side an angry pilot who ended up injured. amy hollyfield is live at sfo with the story. >> reporter: what a story. passengers arrived here in a state of shock. it was 2:00 in the morning it was a long flight. what an eventful start the flight had. we have some pictures of what happened given to us by a passenger. here is what they say happened. two people they believe were drunk turned obnoxious. they were acting so crazy the pilot pulled back into the gate and told them to get off his plane. one man punched the pilot in the eye. that is when the plane of people really turned on these men. six people jumped on the guys and pulled them off the pilot they were beating up. they held them until police arrived. people said it was an unbelievable sight. >> we were all scared. we knew these guys were weird and they were acting funny and talking weird and everything. they looked really different. it was pretty shocking. they should have calle

the plane finally made it to sfo about past 2:00 a.m.. here is a video that we got of the two suspects, these are their mug shots coming out of miami. they are brothers. is there 27 and 29 years old. according to a police affidavit, one of the brothers was not wearing his siegel. the flight attendant tried to get him to wear his seat belt, he was unresponsive. the pilot made a u-turn, pecan proposed plane came back to the gate, the pilot left the cockpit and came up to the passenger to try to speak with him and then he was a sucker punch. here is a reaction from some passengers on >> a few of us went out there and tackled the guy. the pilot and a blouse and contusions on his face. we did what we needed to do to help out. they were acting really erratic. suspicious. like they were >> after been sucker punched, the pilots held to escort the two passengers off of the plane, behind the counter, they jumped on the pilots began. according to american airlines, they say that wearing seat belts is not open to interpretation, the flight attendant

firefighters are mopping up after a car lot fire about a mile north of sfo. we're told the three-alarm fire in an overflow hertz rental car lot is out, but as many as 40 cars are either damaged or destroyed. the fire chief at the scene says winds had made it difficult to fight the fire which spread quickly because of dry grasses under many of the cars. it is not yet clear how the fire started, but there is a clue. >> at this point, we're guessing that it was fireworks, just from what people in the area have said that they heard and saw people in that area using fireworks. but we haven't confirmed it it at this point. it's under investigation. >> reporter: people inside a nearby motel 6 we$6 were evacua because of the smoke. they're being allowed back inside now. no one was hurt in the fire. if the fire were started by fireworks, it's just the thing police and firefighters are worried about happening tonight and tomorrow. that's because this holiday weekend is coinciding with some of the hottest weather of the year. nick o'kelly is here with how hot it got tod

we are at sfo this morning with what witnesses are saying about this incident and a new photo if the scene many miami. >> reporter: well, the plane coming in from miami arrived here a few hours ago. one passenger called this say mishap. in tend, two men were arrested. we have video this morning of the passengers arriving here. a few of those passengers were still talking about what delayed their arrival to san francisco. a spokesperson said flight 1755 was taxiing out for take-off when a disruptive passenger situation escalated, pushing the pilot to turn back to the gate. as crew members were leaving to refile paper work, the male passenger got into a scuffle with the pilot which led to four fellow passengers helping to subdue the rowdy passenger. the pilot was not seriously hurt. paramedics treated him at the airport, but he had to be replaced for the next flight. and a couple of men helped subdued the passenger until police could make arrests. >> they were acting really suspicious and like they were drunk. and bothering other passengers and so then, we left to go to take-off. and t

flight at sfo landed him in handcuffs. he was arrested on suspicion of battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and trespassing. but the d.a. says his office dropped the charges because they didn't want to clog up the criminal courts with a minor misdeamnor case. his mother said her family is ecstatic over the decision but owed an apology anyway. >> just like jumping and screaming, mom we did it. >> both sides could have relax ad little bit and treated it differently. that's part of the reason we don't think it belongs in court. >> the family says it is possibly thinking about filing a lawsuit. the airline meanwhile released a statement saying in part, quote we welcome the district attorney's decision today and hope it will help the family move past this incident. >>> an outbreak of viral infections forced the shutdown of a summer camp run by the city of berkeley. norovirus may be the cause. the same bug may also have caused an illness at a nearby camp run by the city of san francisco. >>> there is a real actual dogfi
