sfo predicts -- busiest day.ase over last year. 35.5 million americans are taking to the roads this holiday weekend and that is the largest number since before the recession hit. drivers across the country are paying the lowest fuel prices in 11 years. the national average is $2.47 a gallon, that is down 12 cents from just a week ago and down nearly a dollar from this time last year. the local average price for gas is down nearly 80 cents a gallon from last year. prices in the south bay are the lowest at $3.11. the average is a penny higher in the north bay. in san francisco expect to pay about $3.29 a gallon and in the east bay the average is about $3.14. but this is a wide price difference across the bay area. we found one gas station in concord where the price is $2.70 a gallon and a station here in oakland where it's a full dollar higher. >>> a scary surprise in new orleans. >> i saw something coming out of this drain. half in, half out. >> the woman says she felt like it was something out of a movie. a scary
