i really do believe we have strong leadership at sfpd. i believe our chief is committed to sunshining future mou's. i know the chief personally, as many of you do. i appreciate his commitment to the safety of the city. this ordinance is about -- is not about the chief. and it is not about terminating the mou. it is about the community. not all our residents have this personal relationship with sfpd. we also do not know what future chiefs would do, as we could not have predicted the change between 2002 and 2007, when sfpd did secretly changed the conditions with the fbi. this ordinance would assure our communities that we are protecting their civil rights, the right not to be investigated because of their skin color or religious practice, today or in the future, because we were willing to codify this in our ad man code. i want to thank again the community that is here. i was hoping you would stand, if you were here in support of the safe civil-rights san francisco ordinance. it is also the broader pan- asian community, the lgbt youth , and

we are working with sfpd and mission station. two underground clubs have been able to get traction with building owners. in one situation, the people were evicted. in the other, they have not been evicted but have been put into a situation where they cannot do underground events or clubs. that is a great example of both the city attorney, sfpd, and the entertainment commission working together with the community to achieve a goal. it is excellent and something that we hope to replicate and other parts of the city. she talked about the promoter registration. we will be looking at the beginning of next month. right now, for those clubs who do outside promoters, it is important that they encourage that those promoters be registered because starting in may, if they are using an outside promoter, they will be getting a citation. that is about it. pretty short and sweet these days. unless there are any questions. >> i do. i have a question about the promoters. anyone who promotes a party, no matter what, if you are doing a drag show in

i know there is a rumor that they do not get along notsfpd, -- they do not get along with sfpd, but i think when it comes to protecting the citizens, both organizations should put down any hint of dispute and cooperate. maybe it might be easier and more flexible and less costly to hire the patrol special. according to my information, they have been highly successful at diamond heights shopping center and also in glen park and maybe in a few other small areas of san francisco, so maybe there should be some sort of discussion, whether there would be more flexibility and less cost in having the patrol special officers doing that type of work rather than sfpd. i am sure most of the officers would rather go after the hard- core criminal than look over the shoulder of suspicious people lingering in parking lots. in regards to this legislation, it is pretty obvious that a lot of the troublemakers are not residents of san francisco, and i think that since they are from out of town, if they see a uniformed officer, they would have second thoughts about making trouble. let's put it this way --
