sfpd next. >> good afternoon supervisors. i am here to effectively address three areas and although there are three separate areas they're interconnected in their implementation. as the board obviously knows the police department has had staffing challenges over the years. as we look at this slide currently before you just in the last two years we have seen a reduction in staffing of some 300 officers. one of the hardest hit areas within the police department actually was the traffic company and that's in large part to the level of seniority that actually took to become a member of the traffic company, to be a member of the motorcycle unit and so forth, so as we rebound with a robust hiring plan under the mayor's leadership here we are prioritizing full staffing levels for the traffic company and the motorcycle officers. in fact we have a class that is going through right now at treasure island but those three areas i want to focus in on the enforcement, investigation and technology. >> when do you think -- when do you antici

of -- has several different concepts, but do you have any concrete stories of success in terms of sfpd's ability to do enforcement where you saw reductions, things that were helpful getting the outcomes that we want to see which are safer streets? >> sure. >> one thing i want to add and one thing helpful with captain o'leary coming to the work groups and can personally hear from the residents. we found that communication helpful but it's great to hear what is successful in this area? >> sure one of the -- i kind of highlight one of the stations, john garrity in the tenderloin. he is active participate in the monthly enforcement efforts and we have seen because of his engagement with the community and just really encouraging compelling the officers to be more active we have seen a decrease in issues in his district versus years past. it's just that chair mattic leadership we're seeing in many of the districts oftentimes fueled by public input and really allows us to direct our resources. this analysis that mta completed in 2012 coupled with what we receive from the community really allows

nothing major incident wise and the city was relatively pretty busy, lots of deployment from sfpd and everything was handled pretty well. a list have -- of incidents few that i will mention, 3130 mission mission incidents out of this particular menu. we've already started talking to mission statement about this with a plan of action for this particular venue we've also reviewed the ownership and management as well and we'll meet with them next week and report back to you any changes and what our point of action is. also, we've also done a few other things as the commission knows last time there is a permit for a raz room. we did test that location. the first night we issued the rest of the permits for the week and we did receive no sound complaints. that went off fine. there were no sound complaints at that week from the venue and the neighbors over sound. they did take care of business and it worked out for the best in the end. everything else you can read pretty straight forward on the sheets unless there are questions. >> questions? no. questions. any public comment over the direct
