what is the sfpd's plan to address why these numbers are higher for men of color and use of force we have a road map to try to get to a better place and a better understanding and impact on the issue. commander ewings and captain ford will talk more about that. is the department keep a database showing the demographics of alleged victims? that we don't do. the calls as we know go into the department of emergency management and they don't keep a database of demographics. we don't have the capability to discern anything from that information because we don't keep that information. when using demographics as a benk -- benchmark there's a number of people of color subjected to force and arrested. one thing want to talk about is when we benchmark these numbers to the demographics of the actual calls, they're pretty close in line to the demographics of calls, in other words, when you look at the percentage of persons of color whether they be african americans, hispanics or asians, that the public that calls in are listed as subjects they're in line with the arrest numbers and use of force

this former sfpd employee should never have access to these records to begin with, and certainly this records should not be on public display for political reasons. it is reported this action was in violation of state law. i understand that it is not ordinary for anyone to have immediate access to police reports. i have actually heard that it can take a significant and sometimes frustrating amount of time to gain access to police reports from the public defender 's office, district attorney's office and even within the department. there are protections around privacy for a death case, sexual assault, or a case where there is a need to protect the victim, and for a death case, there is a significant restriction on who has access while the case is still under investigation. it is only the inspector who has access. even uniform officers cannot access this info. it was shocking with the ease and speed with which this police report about an active death case was released to the press. today i have asked the police department to present at this committee to address the following questions.

the sfpd officers are always engaged in the peace park programming, and we're happy to be a part of that thing on the agenda, on the report s the overtime update. we are 75% into the fiscal year and currently we are just at 3% over our general fund overtime budget. so put the mitigation efforts in place to make sure that we get to our budget by the end of the fiscal year. we have been under budget most of the year. we have two months to go, but almost 3% over. we have having one event that usual lu is prepared and is not going to impact the budget, but a big ticket item with the pride parade and the policing that goes along with that. that is the last big event that draws a lot of overtime for the year, but we are working hard to make sure we get this within budget by the end of the fiscal year. staffing, we are at sworn staffing and full duty f.t.e. at 1,886. which is just below our mandated levels of 1971. we have three academy classes and 264 and 265. 263 will graduate on may 24. 264 will graduate on july 26. and 265 will graduate on november 8. so we're looking forward to these offic
