since 2010, the sfpuc logged in over 9.5 million hours worked on our water restoration program. using the same graph and overlaying this slide, it shows how the 9.5 mil york million worker hours were -- million worker hours were laid out. so since worker hours vary over time, we can also look at the results of our safety program in terms of comparison to the national injury, and you'll see in the loss time rates of the construction industry. our worker injury recordable injury rate normalized around two worker hours -- two incidents per-200,000 worker hours which is lower than the national average of four. and simile, the sfpuc's recordable -- i'm sorry, lost time rate, which is shown in red, has also steadily declined and is also below the industry rate. so looking forward, the p.u.c. is currently updating its prequalification questionnaire and enhancing those safety questions in coordination with the other city departments. we also plan to increase our question regarding closed osha violations to include several questions on our questionnaire for osha violations as well as e.m

want to know how many of the electrical lines to where it stops come under our jurisdiction of the sfpuc, pro proprietary. i want to know why in the year 2018, if ever, that we continue to have special agreements with pg&e to bring in the city into the city. why don't we have proprietary jurisdiction over sufficient lines in today's world with today's technology to bring our electricity all the way to the city. this has never been answered. what some people do here is the answer is in a a con voluted w. under the record act, it was the army and some of the every year we could sit down with pg&e and negotiate. that's why i know how to negotiate with pg&e. we're not sincere. in order to have gone into a clean solar power, there are many factors. we've not been very sincere with this. we say clean. we want to know how clean. if you go deeper into that it's a slap in our face. pg&e does whatever it can and they're free to do it. they're a private enterprise. so, we have no clear notion, first, about how clean it is. and secondly, we are kind of indebted to pg&e because we think when they say

there is also something that would allow us to have sfpuc maintain existing public utility easements so this would give us new time to build infrastructure, allow the city to test that infrastructure while we're still operating the existing infrastructure in the rights of way, and then those older utilities would be abandoned after the new infrastructure's accepted. so on the left diagram, you can see how we have divided the development site into phases and how the master street vacation ordinance would allow us to get a one-time approval and then come back through the city d.p.w. director to obtain approval for vacating rights of way according to these phases. on the right side, you see a diagram that shows how there will be all new streets, realignment and street grid overlayed on top of the existing site. so the schedule that we are here today for the committee's approval, and then we're intending to go to the board of supervisors next week for the resolution of intent. we will go to the sfpuc commission for approval in december, and then come back to the committee in january and

our concern was that the sfpuc, along with the irrigation districts have been lobbying the trump administration to essentially get agencies to back off on the recommendations. you might have seen that on october 1st, the u.s. fish and wildlife service, which is under department of interior, rescinded its recommendations from the ready for environment l analysis. fish and wildlife staff spent years basing the recommendations on the best available science. they were told from above to rescind those recommendations and embrace the tal amir river management plan. i will read something from their letter. it says, the service proposed the set of recommendations included in the usdoi response letters based on studies from multiple river systems, including the river. success is achieved in other areas and on best available science, however, following discussions with licensed applicants, the service recognizing the flow proposal included in the usdoi includes proposed volumes of water as a license condition difficult for the licensed applications to mange without significant effect to over water supply

i'm a san francisco resident, customer of the sfpuc. i'm also a member of the sierra club on the water committee for the san francisco bay chapter, and i just want to ramble a little bit unfortunately because i wasn't sure what mr. ritchie was going to say. but in response to the question what are the differences relative to the various environmental organizations' positions and the p.u.c.? one thing i think it's important to take a step back and look at the big picture of this. they're concerned about the entire eco system, and i think that the focus of mr. ritchie's presentation regarding the tuolomne is important, but that's not just what this is all about. this is really about trying to restore the ecosystem back to some function -- back to some ability to actually be an ecosystem, and i think that one of the sort of taking that big picture approach, one of the problems that i have personally as an sfpuc customer and as an environmentalist is that we all share responsibility for this ecosystem, and for the sfpuc to say well, our own

there was a preliminary screen that was completed on august the 8th by sfpuc staff, and those samp samplings were taken from outside the building and the water piping that is connected with building 606. the criterion -- samples met the criteria with the exception of chlorine residual and iron oxide, and as that was explained to me was the chlorine was, although it was low, it was acceptable, and with the chlorine, it is primarily in the water to fight bacteria, and there was no bacteria detected in the water. the iron oxide would come from rusting that occurred within the pipes. subsequent testing was done inside the building for the potable water, so that would include water in the kitchen, and within the crime lab, and the water chemistry came back within p.u.c. criteria. the drinking water review is going to be ongoing for a period of october through december, so there will be samples taken for a three-month period, and then finally, the water samples have been sent out for radiological tests, as well, and we anticipate those results will be back in the latter part of december. with rega
