health centers in high schools, restore of justice, these dollars have been essential to augment what sfuc receive but it's educating our young people and closing our achievement gap. i'm looking forward to introducing this next tuesday and having a long term discussion and parallel with the children's fund which must go for reargs this -- which must go for reauthorization this year or next year. so i did want to give an opportunity if any other board members would like to speak before we have deputy superintendent lee -- supervisor yee. >> thank you. 1/3 of the funding goes to the [inaudible] for all program and this was also a very important aspect of the education funds because we all know that practice the research, many decades of research that children enter kindergarten without having any of the early education activities, they're going to be struggling, especially those children coming from low to moderate income families. at the time there was a lot of discussion whether we should put it in there, mainly because there was a state wide attempt to do pre-k and there was a lot of hop

i'm very excited that there's going to be development staff at sfuc. i think it's important that the district be able to fund raise beyond the state. it's really great to hear some of this movement. i think -- you know, i hear a lot from our tech companies about how they want to fund and invest in our public schools so students that are graduating from san san francisco unified school district that are ready, but there's a lot of -- a lot of people don't know how to create this curriculum, the tech companies don't know how and we don't know how, and people want to fund the work, but we don't know what the work is going to look like. how do we update our curriculum. i love this presentation, but doing it is so much more challenging in realtime and real life with our students than obviously drafting it and so i'm really looking forward to how that all develops and unfolds because it's so important that our education system keeps pace with where our economy and jobs are being created. >> if i could just say what i'm really excited about this year is with
