and in the portfolio of requests and how it gets delivered to the sfusd, i just don't think that teach for... and i am ready to support teacher paying for america no matter how much it is, and no matter how small the amount for something that they need to fix. until they do that, on their own, i just don't want to contribute to them helping us, in this regard. i don't think that they can do it better than we can do it. and i think that we here have the talent to figure out how to help ourselves. and how to help mlk. and i'm actually pretty frustrated with bringing in outsiders to help this particular school which i believe we can find our own talent to do that work. and if we need to put people focused on it, i would like to see us provide that dedicated talent to that particular site and that leadership team. and if we need more time, on working on that, i think that i would like to see us do that and work towards that. i don't want to give teach for america our money to do what i think that they already need to be working on on their own and when they get it together, then i will be

i mean, that's what the college and organization -- institutions like sfusd need to pay close attention to. so, again, we're not going to be as the mayor's office focusing on how do we close the achievement gap, how do we make sure our kids are ready. although we do support many of our programs and dcyf has invested significant dollars and we have a $3 million grant with the gate foundation to develop success which actually aligns a lot of our work together. and through that work we are actually able to have priority placement for sfusd students so our students that were coming into city college weren't at city college for five or six years and then dropping off. it also allowed us to register students right away with kids that were thinking about going, but not really sure if they wanted to go, who have now -- are showing great strides and being successful at city college. so, our priority around that piece of it is to be able to support the programs that have shown growth and success and actually bridge the success was pointed out in the acc/jc's report as a program that has really be

sunday it was down by pier 40 and we had guest teachers, a commissioner came and talked to us about sfusd about how the board of education and the school district worked together on different issues and also that youth voice and how the youth commission and the student advisory council, sort of it is an opportunity for the youth to have the voice presented in san francisco. and also, the legislative aid, peter waterborne, who works for supervisor eric mar and he did a presentation on resolution writing which we are of course going to be using in the sac. this year. and yeah. and so, yesterday, we had our first, sac meeting at 5:30 with the dinner served and we had pizza. and during our committee discussion, we organized five different committees, the health committee, the curriculum, the budget, sac y and the youth boat committee and we are also sac elections on september 23rd for the student delegate and the sac cabinet committee and there was no public comment and we ajournd at 7:15 p.m. and the next meeting will be at september ninth, at 5:30 p.m. and welcome to attend. >> okay. >> yes
