there are only five public schools in sfusd. they serve a fifth of the percentage of low income students and third of percentage of english language. if what they are asking for it would cap at 33%, one of the most affluent schools in the city. the impact on the students that is new school is not serving. there is another beautiful school community last board meeting mlk facing $300,000 in budget cuts related to enrollment. the board was able to restore that. each class of 60 students if new school were to expand to middle school would take $600,000 of enrollment related funds out of the middle school pool. the board estimates there is a 3 to $4 million impact from the new school in san francisco. there is also prop 39 impact. they are taking space away from sku students. what i heard tonight are similar to what i heard in the public schools. if it is a middle school, the new cool would be a majority white middle school. the only one existing is charter school. the rest of the public schools have 25% white families. thank you. >

an additional 14.7% of teachers in sfusd are spinning more than 50% for the income towards rent. according to the federal guidelines four out of five teachers are burdened with housing costs. whereas sfusd requires 3600 teachers annually, but is challenged by teacher education rate for proximally 10% annually. 30% of sfusd teachers leaving the district within the first five years of teaching. often because of high housing costs, escalating cost of living. whereas the city has fallen short of its needs for very low to moderate income housing having only produce 31% of affordable units needed to meet its share of the regional housing needs of january 15, 2015 to june, 2022 for this critically important housing source. whereas in may have 2017 the board of education approved a resolution supporting a pilot program to develop affordable rental housing for sfusd educators where the price will be affordable for our where paraprofessionals, teachers leading to the project currently underway. whereas proposition e will amend affordable housing and educator housing programs to expedite th

we are willing to say, this is a sfusd approved charter school. i am encouraging you to vote your conscience. i am also saying, we do not have enough data on the k-5 kids to say whether they are doing as well or better, because they are not serving the same kids. the information we have been provided, i know our district actually looks at kids with the social economic status, and race, and and we have produced high-tech reports we are able to track kids that are similar. not just a black kid, it is a black kid that speaks spanish from a low income household. we can track those kids across our district and make comparisons between schools. we are not seeing any of that information in this charter petition. we do not have the information for a k-5 to say they are doing any better or any worse. we do not have the information. we are not comparing apples to oranges, we are comparing apples to mangoes. as i a totally different thing, or like a piece of steak. it's a very different thing. i'm just urging you -- we do not have to prove this charter, and

sfusd as a whole and california statewide. this review and finding apply only to the existing k-5 educational program. district staff recommends that the board adopted these findings of fact, as its own. alternatively the board -- [inaudible] secondly, we have superintendent proposal 199-10sp2. material revision to the new school san francisco charter. the action proposed is that staff recommends denial of the proposed revision to the charter of new school san francisco to expand from grades k-5 to grades k-8. their review and findings of fact are that finding one the proposed material revision presents an unsound educational program for students to be involved in the charter school. the plan for english learners does not adequately address the needs of english language learners in the proposed middle grade 6-8 grade span. finding two, the petitioner's unlikely to successfully implement the proposed material revisions set forth in the petition, because the renewal petition lacks a description of new requirements of charter sch

not just sfusd issue. it doesn't remove from us any sense of responsibility or accountability. we are struggling with things that districts -- a whole bunch of folks are struggling with. what we're trying to to do as a system, is to work with our leaders and not have these schools here or there that are experiencing bright spots. how do we learn from those bright spots and spread them and scale them? we are trying to be much more data informed. both high school and middle school, and actually several middle schools did create parity targets for student outcome. we are trying to make this much growth and creative plans around that with their lead teams in support of that. not waiting until the end of the year to look at the data. where will be our metrics to let us know if we are making progress or not. it doesn't really help a teacher to change practice, right? us getting a savvy at formative assessment is one of the things we not to burden the teacher, or to make the baby feel ashamed or sad. are we moving where we want to move and are we making the right moves to get there? i

minimal welfare standards after a further string of her around us inspection reports in 2008 david still sfusdvoluntarily relinquish both his pennsylvania and u.s.d.a. license but the dogs remained at the same puppy mill though the name was changed to millwood puppies and ownership passed to david's son matthew stills foose matthew quickly obtained a u.s.d.a. commercial breeders license at the same address. immediately the violations continued under the new license when millwood puppies was inspected in october 2009 the violations were so severe that the commonwealth of pennsylvania brought multiple charges against matthew for violations under the dog law. before pennsylvania district judge isaac stalls foose all charges against matthew were summarily withdrawn and all cases closed in 2010. at no time with the dogs removed from the facility by either state or federal authorities. around this time matthew found a new very lucrative avenue to sell his puppies the internet since 2010 it's estimated that matthew has sold over $3000.00 puppies online ranging from 302-2800 dollars each in 2013 alone
