i'm a district 5 resident, and i'm also an sfusd teacher? i'm calling in support of this legislation? i think it would be immoral of our city to leave such a huge part of our community behind at this time. i do hear all of the landlords that have called in, and i obviously support any measures that need to be taken to also ensure that landlords can be stable and be made whole. that needs to be part and parcel of what happens in order to bring all of our community along together. as a schoolteacher in the last ten weeks, i have seen the impact of unstable housing on so many of my students and the move from unstable housing to homelessness. as we all know, homelessness is a factor that causes children to miss school, to leave school earlier, to have lower test scores. really, in the classroom, it looks like kids are just sitting there and looking worried, or looking out the window, wondering where their family is at the moment or asking what are we doing now because it's really hard for them to concentrate because of the stress that they're fa
