temperature wise, a little bit cooler down in shanghai today. 21 degrees. 25 meanwhile in chongqing. wet weather is moving into tokyo as well, 25 degrees here, staying dry and warm in beijing at 26. okay, let's head on into europe. here the west is still goi to be dominated by this low pressure system. it is split into a couple of systems now. one taking aim at the iberian peninsula, france and coming into italy here. you're going to be seeing severe thunderstorms, gusts up to about 60 kilometers and hour and toward the alpine region in italy. short-time heavy rain as well. anything up to about 50 millimeters in the space of just 6 to 12 hours can cause flash flooding. fairly chilly out here as well. the rest of the continent looks quite warm. it is going to be unstable for western portions of russia as well as down and darnaround bla sea, turkey area. but between these two areas of rain and storms you are going to be finding dry weather, high pressure pushing in toward the baltic states so that's going to improve your temperatures here and keep things dry. we'll take a look at those

even shanghai. most of the weekend it is going to be absolutely baking across much of eastern china. some sunny skies in place once that front decides to move off there towards the east. now here into the western portions of the americas, an upper-level low continues to spin into the central rockies. what this is doing especially just west of denver, we're seeing the risk of snowfall, upwards 15 to 25 centimeters. the same low will split up, push off toward the east, organize. well, it is in may and this is the time of year when these lows start to push off like this, you see that risk of some severe weather. we're talking about ping-pong to baseball-sized hail around kansas, oklahoma, you could even see the risk of a tornado or two here as this does push off. and then winds possibly upwards of about 100 to 110 kilometers per hour with this storm system, eventually shifting off to the east and northeast by the weekend. for now a low pressure area will linger here making for unsettled weather around
