i'm shannon bream live in washington. right to conor powell standing by live in kabul. or. >> reporter: shannon, it has been a deadly 24 hours here in afghanistan. yesterday, two british soldiers were killed by a member of the afghan local police force and today four u.s. soldiers in southeastern afghanistan were killed as they were rushing to an afghan police check point to help out the police unit being attacked. when they arrived they were shot at and killed. the u.s. mill tare relationship isn't 100% sure what happened. they aren't sure if it was in fact an insider attack because many of the police officers that are supposed to be at the check point have now fled. they think they have gone over to the taliban and now in hiding and they are treating this as an insider attack. they don't know the details about what exactly happened. the latest attack brings the total of u.s. and international troops to 51 killed this year by the afghan partners and this really is undermining the overall strategy here in afghanistan because at the heart of the strategy is building up th

[cheers] [applause] instead of a medicare guarantee, republicans would give seniors a voucher that limits what is covered. costing seniors as much as a $400 more per year. reporter: that number is based on an outdated plan that is significantly different from two important things. romney's plan and the revised updated plan. even if the number was accurate, it would not impact anything are currently on medicare. the newest russian plan does not eliminate medicare as it is known right now. it would continue on as an option along with private options. also last night, duval patrick went after romney's record of that state. >> in massachusetts, we know mit

martha: shannon bream, thank you very much.have some breaking news in charlotte, and this is significant. for the democratic plans and the president, barack obama on thursday night. moments ago, the democratic national committee, the dnc working the convention here in charlotte, says the outdoor arena has been scratched. president obama appears before some 64 to 74,000 people will not happen at the outdoor bank of america building across town here in charlotte, north carolina. instead it will be moved indoors to this arena. the time warner cable center arena in downtown charlotte. this arena is considerably smaller. perhaps 16,000 maximum capacity and size as opposed to the 60 plus they would've gotten in the visuals you would've gone on a thursday night. weather is the issue. the concern is lightning, possibly rolling throughout the area late in the afternoon into the early evening hours. we have seen that almost everything that we have been here this week. we seem to be in that pattern of storms cropping up. around 7:00 o'clo
