in washington, shannon breem fox news. >>> we are learning what cause add fire at a popular sports bar in the south bay. it started last night at double d's sports grill on santa cruz avenue. we saw major smoke and water damage to the dining area and the ceiling. about an hour ago firefighters told us investigation have learned that the fire was sparked by improper storage of combustibles in the water heater closet. it includes cleaning supplies and electrical equipment. this morning employees expressed shock and sadness about what happened. >> i'm extremely sad. i have been here less than a year and i love coming to work and being around everyone and the atmosphere and it is fun. i'm sad that it is going to be closed for a while. >> firefighters were able to save some sports memorabilia from the bar. they include autographed items from the 49ers, sharks and warriors and other teams. the fire caused upwards of two million dollars in damage. >> state park officials say a whale appeared young, 40 feet long and not fully grown and came ashore yesterday at a spot called lower trestles.
