well. >> reporter: yes, shannon. of all days to forget an umbrella, i'm out here at 35th and mitchell. this whole road was basically flooded about three minutes ago. some families came out with broom sticks and started trying to kind of get the debris, this is the problem, as you can see, and you can hear, i'm going t hear how fast that water is rushing under there, so families have been out trying to remove all this debris from sewers so to clear up streets. this was all flooded. now, also, there are a lot of trees down. i'm going to step out of the way so you can see. this is just one small area near 35th and mitchell. we actually were driving down a side street, and a branch fell on our windshield. luckily it was a small one, but definitely the high wind and all this heavy rain is causing a lot of chaos out here, a lot of branches coming down. i can tell you, too, these rain drops are huge. they're very big. and visibility, if you're on your way -- if you know someone driving home from work now, tell them to take it slow. the roads are backed up, visibility is not great. be careful

shannon behnken 8 on your side. >>> well the sunset up here is broken in palm harbor at 82 degrees with the sunlighting up here with the nice view. no rainfall at this location. any showers that would occur closer to the west coast for earlier in the day, of course the westerly flow is moving everything off to the east. 78 degrees at 7:00 a.m. with high humidity. and a breeze off the gulf is stifling and ends up that way -- so it starts off kind of stifling and ends up that way. 85 in palm harbor. same number in apollo beach. 78 in foster. if this is where the rain is located, if you are not getting rain in that area perhaps you may have seen cooler temps off the thunderstorms that have been nearby? it is 86 in venice, quite a bit of dry air high above the atmosphere back to the west with the cold front. farther south though, we'll see the deep atmospheric helping to produce the showers. but really look at the rest of the southeast, fairly quiet in this area, but the thunderstorms have developed largely thanks to the westerly flow converging with the east coast sea breeze in that area.
