[laughter] involved in the murder of rosenbaum and acidic visiting students because there was an accident in the parade and wrapped crown heights, and in the midst of it, nelson is caught with a bloody knife, seen running away from where rosenbaum was laying dying. they bring nelson over, the dying man identifies nelson as the one who stabbed him. later in the police station, nelson confesses to the crime. a mostly black jury acquits him to have the crime, and the "new york times" editorial was we will never know who killed nelson.
