meg shaw is live in hudson. the community is rallying around the boys now. >> reporter: a go fund me account is up and running for those three boys. the last check is more than $15,000 have been donated so far. i talked to police earlier this morning about the messages that terrance mentioned. a sergeant with the department did -- texes were in fact sent before christy byce was killed by her husband steven byce. he's responsible for sending the messages. the article said he messaged his sons a day before the shooting and inviting them to the fun and stuff park in the boys said the dad never showed up. instead, he ambushed the mother. steven shot at her four times. five times, excuse me, hitting her four times and he then turned the gun on himself. and i also checked some court records this morning just two months ago steven byce was arrested for a domestic violence incident involving christy. he, that charges eventually reduced to a disorderly conduct. i'm digging more into this case and we'll keep you updated.

meg shaw is looking through the numbers for you. how are the rankings determined? >> reporter: the annual report uses a few factors to decide how healthy the county will be this year. they include smoking, adult obesity, drinking and physical activity and while looking at education, the access we have to healthcare and unemployment rate. and look at all of the numbers here and they look, they should be coming up here soon. there you go. and that is looking confusing about but this year, the healthiest county is medina and they came in the fifth healthiest out of 88 counties in the state and notice on the right. this year, we're ranked 53rd and that is down three spots and another county who dropped in annual rank beings, summit county. they're at 46 and down 10 spots from 2015. and one county that vastly improved, huron in 2015 and they were ranked 68 and this year, they're at the 51st and now what, do all of the numbers mean and what does it mean for the county you live in? this is linked to help local leaders and community organizers identify the issues the area

meg shaw is live for us in cleveland. a bunch of public meetings start today, right? >> reporter: they do, yes. rta says that these public meetings are being held because they need to close a $7 million in a statement, the company's ceo blames the state for part of this offset budget. he said they're not receiving enough money in funding. they're proposing higher fares and fewer routes. proposed rates could range from $2.50 to $5. taking a look at fare cards and passes. those could range from $12.50 to $16.25. this is not going over well with riders. a group plans to rally at the meeting in an effort to stop the proposed hikes. there are two public meetings scheduled for today. the first one starts at noon and the second one starts at 6:00 at the main office. a final decision won't take place until late april. live in cleveland, meg shaw, news channel 5. transparency and the republican national convention. there will be a rally on city hall. some are upset the public isn't involved in deciding what security equipment will be purchased for the rnc. they say citizens ha
