raleigh's chavis park celebrating its 78-th anniversary today. dozens of people attended the free family event. festivities included a performance from platinum sound and shaw university's marching band. there were also rides, food trucks and live music. the john chavis national register of historic places. it's known as the funkiest street festival in the triangle. today, people gathered in durham for phoenix fest. this is the 15-th year for the event that celebrates the cultural legacy of the city's hayti community. historic fayetteville street was transformed into a bazaar with vendors, food and music. now to fayetteville street--in downtown raleigh--where the wide open bluegrass festival is just about to wrap up. earlier in the day--as thousands of people packed the streets to listen to bluegrass music and eat barbeque. bands performed on seven stages set up throughout downtown. plenty of vendors lined the streets--and fun activities for kids. meteorologist liz horton is here now with the a pleasant evening is on the way with partly cloudy skies expected, and lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s. sunday will be beautiful as well, with mostly sunny skies expected. hig
