live in denver, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. >> shawn, thanks. cbs4's jamie leary picks this up this arapahoe county. she's near arapahoe and glencoe. jamie, tell us what's going on there. >> reporter: police actually just cleared the scene. this is called the villas at are called. the investigation does continue. i'm told they're still looking for a suspect. want to give you a closer look at the scene we arrived upon earlier. it was about 30 minutes ago that denver police actually towed the stolen car, the red camaro. you can see bullet holes all over the side of the car. i counted at least 10 of them on one side of that car. dpd spotted the camaro in southbound lane to happy canyon. they said speeds became too high and they lost visual of the red camaro. at one point colorado state patrol, arapahoe county sheriff's office and denver police all involved in that pursuit. our photographer eddie castro not too far behind them, he says they went all the way to castle rock and at one point the suspect vehicle doubled back on the northbound side and t

that's where shawn chitness is live for us this morning. shawn, earlier we asked you about a suspect. any idea if this has all changed? >> reporter: britt, we know police have cleared the scene and moved on to trying to hearing about the suspect being in one cone and now another. this all started just before 2:00 a.m., though. that's when police tell us these two men were robbed outside of the nightclub at gunpoint. one of them taken to the hospital in critical condition from his injuries, gunshot wounds there. we know the other man, the one that was injured, is in stable condition now and the other man wasn't injured. but that suspect did get away first hearing about this happening in denver county, now in another county. we know that is what is keeping denver police busy at this time. for now they haven't been able to give us a description on the suspect or car they're looking for, but we do know they're pursuing that car this morning. live in denver, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. >>> the suspect chased across county lines, even for a

live along i-25, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. >>> thanks a lot. let's find out how this system is doing right now. here's ashton. >> there's two parts to this. the first part, the cold front. that came through last night. it's why we're so much colder this morning. temperatures in the 30s around the denver area. 20 to 25 degrees stapleton is 28 degrees colder now. the second part to this system is the upper level low back lined the -- behind the cold front. that's in utah and nevada. as that moves in, that's when we're going see the snow spread over the mountains and eventually some cold rain changing to light snow here in the denver area. you can already see the precipitation just now crossing over the utah/colorado state line. big shield here of precipitation and that's what's going to make its way into the colorado high country. midnight from aspen to the northwest corner of the state. 4to 8 inches. wind gusts 50 miles per hour. for our mountains of summit county to winter park, steamboat and back down toward vail, 4 to 10 inches of snow. 2to 5

our shawn chitness is live near that landfill with her story. shawn. >> reporter: britt, police aren't sure if charlene voight is still alive, so it's unclear what they maybe clues that could help them find her or possibly her remains. either way, the search started just this week, and police tell us it will likely take several months to complete. they last heard from charlene when her family said they talked to her in late june. someone had a conversation with her over the phone. littleton police started investigating her as a missing person when the family reported july. as we watched, search teams are out here. during that investigation for a missing person, voight's long term boyfriend was arrested for an unrelated sexual assault. in september court documents revealed that the district attorney's office was dismissing that case. documents said the decision was made because that case was now mixed in with an ongoing missing persons case, which is unclear now of course if that's related to this that is now here at the landfill. live in commerce

live in denver, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. >> shawn, thank you very much. policese car across county lines, even for a short time on southbound i-25. let's go to jamie leary, she picks it up in arapahoe county now live in a neighborhood near arapahoe road and glencoe in centennial. what's happening there? >> reporter: these are called the villas at holly. this is where that pursuit ended at one point. officers lost sight of the vehicle they were chasing, a red camaro. this is where it ended up, this is where they found the car ditched. look at the scene. it was moments ago we saw a bullet ridden red camaro being towed away. that suspect ditched the car. they're in this area. they did initially give us a suspect description but asked us not to release it because they have to confirm it. we believe they know who this american is. i was also told by denver police who are leading this investigation with the help of arapahoe county sheriff's office that they need to talk to the person in it could be a while before they're able to question that person to find out

. >> shawn chitness is on east bridge street, north of bar lake in brighton. what's going on, shawn? >> reporter: we just got a few more details from brighton police. this is happening inside the east gate mobile home park. police now telling us a little bit more about how all of this started. of course, now it is a homicide investigation. they did get the call around 1:30 in the morning, a man saying there was someone on his we know those were in fact stab wounds. so that man, the victim, was taken to a hospital and later died in surgery from those injuries. we also know there was a halloween party happening somewhere in the area, not necessarily at this same home where that man was found. at that party there could have been a fight that led up to what ultimately injured that man and then where he died from those injuries at the hospital. we know he is in his 30s. he particular house. at this time brighton police don't have any information on a possible suspect. they are talking to the family and working on getting a search warrant. we'll remain on scene, cont

our shawn chitness is live at the school campus with the very latest. shawn, good morning. >> reporter: britt, good morning. one of those signs still on the door this morning. we can see it right here. for some students the only way they found out about the school closing, they were planning to gather outside here at 8:00 a.m. to voice their anger about what has happened. certainly a frustrating time for them. the announcement came weeks to graduate. this was for the for profit school which offers programs in health care related jobs. the college says its permanently closing its doors. the note says they don't have enough money to keep operating. students were attending classes as late as yesterday morning and had no idea about the plan to shut down later that day and they don't know if they'll get credit for what they've studied and paid for. even teachers say they for months the school was running out of cash. here's what one teacher had to say. >> given up an entire year of their lives, a lot of money, and they're just, i don't know how to say it in n

our shawn chitness live with reaction from church leaders this morning. shawn. >> reporter: good morning. i'm here outside of first unitarian church where we can still seal the vandalism. there's a black lives matter sign and paint sprayed all over. this is happened for a second time almost exactly a year later, someone pouring red paint over this sign and their support of that movement. they think they're going to react differently. last year they got a team together to pressure wash and clean up the mess that was made by someone. this year, though, the leaders at the church tell us th the struggle and the challenge that those who support this movement, black lives matter, and other movements like it face and let it be a reminder to those that are against it, as well as those in support of it each day. they did talk to police, they did file a report, and detectives telling them because there isn't surveillance video there likely won't be a way to find the person responsible. black lives matter has infuriateed someone to the point where they feel like they
