shawn chitnis is here. things could take a major turn this afternoon. >> we know that oakland city council will decide when to end the eviction moratorium. it is abate that has put landlords against their own tenants for years now , starting with a pandemic. tenants cannot afford to make rent , they want the city to ensure that they are not kicked out of their own homes . some landlords say they have been financially ruined by tenants who have gone years without making a single payment. under a proposed plan, the city's eviction and late fee moratoriums would end on july 15. a ban on rent hikes would not end until july 2024. some landlords have always had issues with tenants making payments on time. now , they are facing foreclosure. we heard from one man who said they felt abandoned and that they should lose everything because there is no plan for him to recover years of lost income. >> it is a nightmare. it is an endless nightmare. it is ridiculous that we are put in a situation for three years with no co
