let's get to shawn chitnis live at the bay bridge toll plaza. shawn, we are hearing some of the lanes just reopened? >> reporter: that's right anne. you can see a few cars able to make it through as they work their way here on the westbound lanes toward san francisco. not a lot of people in line and in position to come this way because we were told this may take quite some time to reopen. and of course so many people glad to see this is now an option for them to get to san francisco but really just to emphasize how serious this was, we are learning from ucsf there were multiple patients, staff, organ transplants delayed because of this closure. they were essentially stuck on that bridge. take a look at what the scene was like. at least 50 people have been arrested and this was quite the scene as it had taken over the bridge right around rush hour. we saw it at 8:00 a.m. at least 15 cars were towed. chp got word of the the issue. took four hours for them to clear. and the situation at the center of that stretch of the bridge between treasure islan

the district reach a tentative agreement last month but, shawn chitnis shows you what the latest deal is as voting begins. >> a lot has happened in just under a month when we were in early october . we were dealing with a vote authorization for a strike but then, a little over a week after that, we learned that both sides had made a deal so that they can move forward in the process and begin with members of the teachers union starting to vote today. the united educators of san francisco represents 6400 teachers, nurses, social workers and other staff numbers in the district. some of the key terms of this deal include a $9000 salary raise for certified educators in their first year and a 5% increase in their second year. other educators will get $30 per hour or an 8% increase with their first year and a 5% increase in their second year. substitute teachers will get a pay raise and the union says they will see improvements in working conditions and or protections for their members as part of the deal. it is a two year term that will be retroactive starting july 1 of this year and contin
