. >> and i'm shawn yancy. we begin the 11:00 tonight with a maryland mother who is frustrated and angry. her son had to be air lifted to the hospital after he was found unconscious in his high school. >> sarah simmons joins us with more. >> reporter: this is what latisha wilson's done had looked like after a beat-down in the bathroom. his mother is livid and says his injuries were bad enough he had to be flown to the hospital from the school. you can see the wound on her ninth grade son's head. but it's the massive bump on his forehead that really gets your attention. >> my child was found unconscious in the boy's bathroom with a knot the size of an apple on his head. >> reporter: she is angry about how westlake high school dealt with the attack on her son. she says the ninth grader remembers three boys coming after him in the bathroom but doesn't remember anything after that moment. she says someone took this picture of him on the floor after the attack and posted it online. she says his injuries were severe.

i'm shawn yancy. >> and i'm jim lokay in for tony perkins and off the top at 11:00, a 66-year-old man shot and taken into custody on capitol hill after he drew a gun inside the visitor's center. >> the incident happened around 2:30 this afternoon after the area was packed with tourists and visitors. marina marraco is live on capitol hill tonight after a play-by-play of what happened. >> reporter: finally it is calm and peaceful. just a few hours ago the suspect's vehicle removed from the premises here taken to a nearby evidence yard and there a search warrant will be executed. back in 2008 police saying that this same man came on to capitol complex, a man was arrested. canine surveyed the car and was deemed safe and for about six hours it sat parked here at the capitol complex. u.s. capitol police saying this man has been known to them several times before and it appears they say that he drew a weapon at this point. police not being any more specific other than to say that it appeared he drew a weapon. they did say he recovered that weapon but they did not say what type of weapon it w

i'm shawn yancy. >> and i'm tony perkins. two women are dead tonight following another case of domestic violence in prince george's county. >> that's right. police say kevin reynolds killed a young mother of three and her sister before turning the gun on himself. the women were gunned down last night and neighbor say the 5-year-old daughter witnessed the entire thing. >> reporter: this is such a tragic story with a lot of moving parts. what we know is that back in early february kevin reynolds was accused of assaulting tarika jones here at this apartment complex. he was locked up and stayed locked up for several weeks until just last week when there was a bond review. and according to a spokesperson for the state's attorney office, tarika jones went to that bond hearing and when the bond was reduced to that $20,000, she paid it. last night around 10:30 george's county police say kevin reynolds barged into the home of tarika jones and gunned her down in front of her five-year-old daughter. according to police and prosecutors r

. >> and i'm shawn yancy. we begin tonight with the latest in the death of prince george's county police detective jacai colson. he died after a gunman opened fire outside the district 3 police station. >> tonight three brothers are in custody. marina marraco is live in palmer park and we learned today that detective colson died from friendly fire. >> reporter: he did. and that makes this story that much more tragic, if that's even possible. one of his colleagues shooting detective colson, shooting him kritly here on -- critically and ultimately he died. the chief saying tonight that detective colson displayed extreme heroism because he basically walked upon that gun battle and when he saw what he did, mind you, he was off duty in an unmarked vehicle with no uniform and no body armor and yet still he engaged that suspect and the chief says it was that extreme heroism that allowed those officers to then neutralize the threat. >> he kept yelling come out and confront me. i'm ready for you. i'm ready for you. >>
