[ speaking foreign language ] i just said in chinese, hello, everyone. my name is shawna. i'm 11 years old. i'm in fifth grade at providence elementary school. i like chinese class very much because chinese class is fun. i have been taking chinese since the first grade which was the first year it was taught at my school. my teacher has been my teacher all five years. there's a second chinese teacher at my school who is teaching my little sister. i really like learning chinese. class is a lot of fun because we learn using a lot of games and activities that include everyone in the class that teach us new things. my regular teacher mrs. pratt told me sometimes they're teaching the same things at the same time. this year when we learned about ancient civilizations, she taught us about ancient china and ancient dynasties while we were learning chinese. i like that they go together. sometimes we even do math in chinese class. i want to keep learning chinese. i want to be fluent in chinese.

plane after all communications with the aircraft were lost mid-flight let's now get the latest from shawnathomas who joins us live on the program here. sean good to see you with me now is that since the plane went silent officials in jakarta have they turned up anything yet well rory nothing as of yet and let me explain a little bit as to why it's the middle of the night there because of indonesia's close proximity to the equator there's about twelve hours of day twelve hours of night so the indonesian authorities did send out a search crew they did send out helicopters but they had to bring those helicopters back because of the nighttime hours also because of fog in the area but what we do know is that at first light which is going to be around six o'clock in the morning those helicopters are going to be up and out again making their search renewed but we also know that there is a crew from russia coming in an international team that is on their way to jakarta right now to assist in that search as well so right now everything is on hold what we do know is we do know the flight path of the
