(matt) at an open h hse, tonight, city engineers updated their progress on the proposed viaduct at 18th street. the proposed viaduct project will begin at floyd boulevard and span the railroad tracks. it will end east of the and steuben street. nstruction could begin as early as february 2017, and is anticipated to take 18 months to complete. city engineer glenn ellis says it's important to keep the public informed. and i'm sheila brummer. tonight, a death investigation underway in northeast nebraska. law enforcement officials are investigating a suspicious death west of pierce, nebraska. the discovery came after a vehicle fire. shortly after 3 o'clock, this afternoon, pierce fire and rescue responded to a vehicle on fire nine miles west of pierce. firefighters with the pierce fire department worked to extinguish the fire, and saw human remains in the cab of the pick-up. the nebraska state patrol and state fire marshall's office were called to investigate. a state patrol lieutenant says that the pick-up is in the middle of a field and they believe human remains are inside the smoldering vehicle. investigators are allowing some burn itself out so they can go through evidence at the scene. the community of spencer, iowa mourning the loss of a high school wrestler who died over the weekend. today, the clay county medical examiner says the preliminary investigation shows austin roberts died of natural causes. he was a senior at spencer high school. the case has been turned over to the

"the threat was one of the nature of violence to the school and its students," said madison county sheriff, vern hjorth.
