shell energy. so shell energy, pg&e, clean power sf and rate payers. shell energy we found out two days ago started drilling in alaska, also the largest investors in the canadian and carbon intense way. pg&e a local company has challenges. they have some problems. being an industry leader is not one of those -- industry leader around clean energy is not one of their problems. i have given all of you an nrdc report generated this year based on the 100 largest electrical gone ray tors in the country. out of that report pg&e, as part of -- they are the lowest co2 emissions per megawatt of any investor-owned utility in america. while they may have other problems, co2 emissions isn't one. the other part to highlight is clean power sf. they have a million dollars of marketing. currently if you look at their marketing they say will my rates increase. they say we will try to be comparative to pg&e. they don't say yes, by 77%. they say can i exit the program. yes, enthusiastically. they don't say you will have to pay to do that. that is not the best marketing i

there are shell trade routes all over the southwest. shell was a primary material for making jewelry, for using in burials, and you had to walk 600 miles to get it, down to the sea of cortez, the water that's in between baja and the main land of mexico. and i tracked routes all the way down to the border over years and then across the mexican border into sonora and then it a place called penacate and then a dune, 5,000 square miles of sand dunes, a beautiful landscape, but no water out there. but pottery, broken pottery all over in certain places and pieces of shell left behind where you could see that the people were crossing these dunes to the sea and picking up shell and then crossing back and then moving it up to phoenix and then from phoenix distributing it throughout the rest of the southwest. the first trip i took out there, we hit this mountain range right at the edge of the dunes. and we were carrying, i don't know, on that trip we were maybe carrying 80 or 90 pounds of water and moving it out to the sand and then we'd drop a c

, we have a contract term this allows us to swap in our power for shells. we would take money from those customers and instead of giving it to shell we use it to pay off the debt. if it's after the contract is expired we would have new money coming in from customers to pay off the debt. the real issue is can you build a falt that can be sufficiently cheap enough to have this rate structure supported. and i think that the answer is that's something we're still working on but we believe there are places, for example in our watersheds where we own vast quantities of land. that's a much better place to start than a lot of other places anybody else has to start, to be able to build things that can be done for a reasonable price. and we believe there are opportunities where it can work. the other part obviously is that we hope that all of this makes it so that people are using less power and more conservation so we're not having to build as much. we believe there are opportunities on our watersheds particularly but other places, but it's viable. i cannot promise
