if you've got the bullets and you've got the shell casings, one thing you can say is they were fired from the same weapon. and if that's true, then we're probably looking for one shooter. secondly, by looking at the bullets and the sell casings, you can get a fairly good idea of what kind of weapon fired these shots. first of all, it had to be a semi-automatic to leave shell casings. they're going to reveal a lot about the manufacturer of the gun. what type of ammunition was it. there are going to be class characteristics and individual characteristics on both the shell cings and the bullets. so there's a lot of information there in the evidence. but obviously, once you have a gun, you will be able to tell if that gun fired those bullets. also trajectories. people saw the muzzle flash and so they do have a fairly good idea of trajectories. when all this comes together, even without a gun, if this gun had been used in other crimes, it could very well be sitting on a data base, the ammunition that is. that will give you a possible linkage to previous crimes that have been committed with

there's a weapon recovered, which has been tied to the shell casings that were recovered there.red from him. and he has acknowledged his participation in firing the shots. that, in fact, he did fire the shots that struck the two officers. so i do want to say first, as with all cases, they're mere allegations and he's innocent until proven guilty. he is in custody in this building now, the bond is set at $300,000 cash only. the investigation is still ongoing. we know from reviewing what we have so far, the police have done that. that there's still a lot of people out there, you can tell from some of the videos that were there who may have witnessed this or at least seen parts of it. we can see them looking in certain directions. what got the police to this point is information that was provided to them by members of the community. and i can't stress how important that is in every case. but certainly in this case it has been invaluable to do that. there's a lot more information, and we can tell from, as i said the videos that there are a lot more people who were there who may have
