we watched the sheriff's deputies collect quite a few shell casings that were all over the sidewalk in this area. neighbors heard the gunfire just before midnight and sheriff's deputies moved in here and a man was in his 30s and shot several times in the head. the victim was discovered near st. andrew press biertarian church but appears he was shot about a block away and then somehow made his way to that church after being wounded. the shooting happened near the intersection of cole drive and drake avenue here in marin city. deputies were able to get here in less than a minute after the 9-1-1 calls came in from neighbors. >> as far as we know at this point, he's not a resident of marin city, but he is known to people here in the community and those are people we want to talk to to get further information. >> reporter: the victim's name is not yet released by authorities and investigators don't know yet what the motive may have been for the crime. the person who opened fire on this man is still on the loose and deputies have not put out any information on the shooter they are continuing
