shelley walcott is live in the studio with what officials say is behind this issue. shelley: chipotle officials say it's not e-coli that made people sick at the restaurant mere the b.u. campus, and within the last hour boston's public health commission confirmed that norovirus was found at the chipotle on cleveland avenue. the illness reports started coming in monday. dozens of boston college students were sick with some sort of stomach disorder. all had eaten at this chipotle mexican grill in cleveland circle near the b.u. campus. this included at least eight members of the school's men's basketball team. the department of public health immediately became involved, enlisting the help of boston inspectional services. a check of the restaurant they say immediately raised concerns. >> upon entry to the establishment, the inspector did identify three violations that caused enough concern in her prudent to close the establishment. reporter: those three violations, cooked chicken and steak below the proper holding temperature of 140 degrees. and an employee working despite

we're live in manchester, i'm shelley walcott, wmur news 9. tom: thank you. happening right now in manchester, police searching for this armed robber who fought a clerk to get the cash from the register, the man left the store with money, but it wasn't the same outcome for the person who targeted another store in the city just hours later. wmur's adam sexton is live now with those details. reporter: still not clear if these two robberies are connected, but the first incident featured a fight that police say could have turned deadly with the knife that was involved. just before 9:00 last night in shawn's corner market in manchester a suspect barges in the door and hops the counter. the clerk tries to stop him with a right cross that appears to miss. a few more wild punches are thrown and from there it a wrestling patch that involves both parties trying to avoid the knife in the suspect's right hand. police say it's surprising no one was hurt. thing, there's no monetary value for human life. so although this man put up a valiant effort and struggled with him, f

good evening, i' m shelley walcott. the grim toll of heroin and fentanyl abuse currently stands at 292 lives in the state this year. adam sexton joins us now with a look inside the numbers and at new funding headed this way to help. adam: this started out being called the heroin epidemic but fentanyl is driving the overdose deaths this year having played a role in 177 fatalities. and those are just the confirmed numbers. there are still dozens of toxicology reports still pending. new hampshire drug overdose deaths have already set a new record this year, and the tally continues to mount. according to the office of the chief medical examiner, the current confirmed total is 342. 292 of those lost their lives to an opioid overdose. and the state says there are 73 cases pending, awaiting final toxicology reports. total is it will be far higher 2014. but some help is on the way in the budget bill on its way to passing congress includes a $91 million or 284% increase in combating opioid abuse. plus a big bump in the dollars d

wmur' s shelley walcott joins us live to explain. manchester police say this one of the most unusual robberies they' ve ever had to deal with. it happened at this speedway gas station on massabesic street, just after midnight. surveillance photos show a suspect walking up to the cashier' s booth. he was wearing a black ski mask and light colored gloves. he doused the booth with lighter fluid, and threatened to light it on fire unless the cashier gave him money. the cashier handed over cash and the suspect took off. a police spokesman tells us that' s where the trail of this suspect went cold. foot, westerly down hayward street. a k-9 track, showed negative results so. you know the time that lapsed between the time she called it in and officers arriving is only a minute or two but in a minute or two, someone could get a good distance away from the scene. shelley: the cashier was so shaken up she was not able to get a good description of the suspect. manchester police are hopeful m shelley live in manchester, i' walcott, wmur news 9. j
