oakland city attorney is facing a thursday deadline to hand over documents to the fbi related to mayor shengtao, her partner andre jones, along with the california waste solutions contractor and its owner, the politically connected duong family. ktvu obtained a copy of the subpoena. our jana katsuyama details some of what was revealed in the subpoena from the u.s. attorney's office in northern california was sent to oakland city attorney barbara parker on june 25th, just five days after the fbi raided mayor xiang yu's home and the offices of the california waste solutions, owned by the dong family, whose political connections have been under legal scrutiny. >> the subpoena asks for all documents and electronic communications from january first of 2022 until the present. the city attorney will review the requests on the records request, then works with the technology departments. >> sadly enough, we're at this point now and i'm trying to reestablish confidence and gain respect from the public due to the lack of safety we're experiencing, and certainly this is not going to help us at all. >> ther

also a big day for oakland mayor shengtao. she responded today to recent questions about oakland's reported crime drop. the police department says overall crime is down 33. but according to the san francisco chronicle, that number was based on incomplete stats from last year, and the number may be closer to 20. >> there has been no change in how the oakland police department has reported our weekly crime data since they began sharing it with the community in 2011. so this is opd's process in regards to being transparent. other cities, they actually are not this transparent. >> mayor tao went on to say there are discrepancies if crimes are miscategorized when they're reported and there's typically about a three month lag between a report being filed and the data being reflected in statistics. mayor tao also commented on the fbi raid of her home and three other locations in oakland as a part of a political corruption probe. when i asked her earlier today on midday live if there was any wrongdoing, this was the mayor's response.
