i'm shepard smith. this is the fox report. it's the bottom of the hour.for the top of the news. u.s. farmers are taking new steps to try to survive this year's drought. and that could effect how much we all pay at the grocery store. and at this gas station. some key farming groups report that for the first time they are asking the feds to relax a requirement for the amount of ethanol in our gasoline. they say it could help lower corn prices but ethanol producers disagree. now, keep in mind a lot of our corn supply goes towards making ethanol. roughly 345% according to the agriculture department. environmentalists have pushed ethanol as cleaner alternative for fossil fuels like oil and natural gas. of course, you will find corn in everything from cereals and snack foods to the sweetners in our soft drinks. but the drought has left farmers with fewer drops to go around. and today the price of corn hit a record high on the chicago merck. gerri willis fox business network with us. many of the farmers are saying they just can't afford corn to feed their livest

i'm harris faulkner in tonight for shepard smith. the fox report. disappointing jobs numbers for june. hitting some people harder than others. construction workers facing even higher unemployment than the national average with the weak economy grinding projects to a halt. today the president signing a monster transportation bill from congress bridge projects and lawmakers say it will create up to 3 million construction jobs. as we told you off the top of fox report tonight, the government reports our economy added just 80,000 jobs last month. leaving the unemployment rate stuck at 8.2%. it reports there has actually been a drop in the unemployment rate for the construction sector down more than a percentage point to 12.8%. the lowest since june of many of those workers have left the field entirely. mike emanuel live in d.c. now. mike, those numbers suggest where we have been. where am lis say going construction jobs. >> one analyst told me today he expects there will be gradual improvement in hiring in the construction industry over
