[applause] >> now we will talk about what sheri is seeing for predicting policing and sentencing at the community level. >> i work for the center for media justice as an organizer and i am an organizer with our bay area. i am from california. i will talk about three things when it comes to predictive policing. a little around t the data, the money and lack of accountability. and what is happening on the ground. the first one is, and it what kind of brought up, but it is where the data is neutral which we know is not the case. we know we have historical studies proven over and over again that various communities might actually do more crime yet other communities are policed for that crime. if that is the case, and t theitathe data going into the studies, it will only produce inaccurate information that relies on racist human assumptions. that is number one. the other one is there is an influx of money, it was discussed earlier in one of the panels, around muna coming in. a lot of that has gone into these predictive policing softwares that are unproven. and there are several deparliamedep
