this is sheridan circle which if you look over here this is massachusetts avenue coming from downtown. it heads up north toward northwest that way. okay. this whole area which is incredibly difficult to get through even on a normal day has been closed up. so there is no getting through the area if the area in northwest is gridlocked. it is difficult to get anywhere in the area including connecticut avenue is gridlocked. down rock creek parkway is pretty bad. this all started as a protest in support, apparently, of the turkish government. you can see people are waving the turkish flag. there are i love the turkish president signs around and whatnot. but at some point an altercation occurred. and police were involved. there were injuries. there was at least one arrest they see right here. this gentleman here is in handcuffs. a number of signs were torn up and strewn across the area. the sickle was closed. we have mtv. we have secret service. we have park police on the scene. and of course the fire department was here in a fairly large capacity. so at the moment that is what we have righ

this began when two cars collided as they approached this coned off lane outside of sheridan elementary school. the school has nothing to do with what happened but after that minor accident, the two women got into a dispute in the middle of the crete. take a look at some of the video from this morning. one of those women round up stabbing the other woman with what police are describing as a scalpel. the victim was taken to the hospital with a wound to her arm but it's considered a non life threatening injury. this happened just before 8:30 this morning on the 400 block of capitol avenue. we talked with lizette hasben. she says after the crash, the other woman was aggressive and she feared for her safety and the safety of her child. >> she looked like she was going to strike me and also, i'm in front of, i'm behind my car. there's no way for me to move. when you're that close in proximity to someone and putting your handing up and you're repeatedly telling that other person please back up and you're not backing up, you have to defend you're ever yourself -- yourself. of course i'm sorry
