abc2 news' sherrie johnson is live this morning in northeast baltimore. that's where the latest on the investigation is happening. and i know they have been looking for this shooter. any details? >> reporter: just got off the phone with baltimore city police and they're telling me they're still looking for the gunman so this is a very active investigation. and just a little bit classes are set to resume here at morgan state university. of course last night they canceled classes because of that shooting. now yesterday, it was a very chaotic scene on campus. a little after 4:00 p.m. shots rang out when the smoke cleared a man was shot in the stomach in the student center. he later collapsed outside the building. witnesses say the victim was inside the student center playing pool. now authorities immediately went into action locking down the campus. they also sent out a message on the campus alert system warning students and staff of that shooting. now city police used the s.w.a.t. team to search the area looking for the gunman. now investigators don't think

sherrie johnson is live this morning. how ishis plan different? >> reporter: basically, they plan to build on that security plan. they're encouraging students and staff to be aware of your surroundings. if you see something, say something. and they're implementing a new tip line and they want to hire a new security director. administrators will meet with students and staff in a mandatory meeting, talking about the building an. and the superintendent said that he wants to beef up safety and security in the school building. this comes after two gun incidents at baltimore county schools since the first day of class. in one incident, a student was shot in the cafeteria at perry hall high school. on tuesday, and eighth grade student showed up at this school threatening his teacher and some students. the meeting today will help the teachers and the students under their role in the plan. and the district will share an updated reporting system for staff and students, including that anonymous tip line. and the direct plans to hire a new safety and security

sherrie johnson joins us with more on this story. do police have a suspect or anything to go on with this shooting. >> reporter: right now, so far baltimore city police officers are searching for a person of interest. this shooting happened around 9:30. a 4-year-old boy and his 33- year-old mother were both shot in the home and it happened about 9:30. officers responded to the 900 block of the gorsuch avenue. police are calling this a domestic shooting. the 4-year-old son was shot in the hip and the mother in the upper arm. neighbors tell abc 2 news that a swat team was called to the same home two weeks ago for an incident. there will be a community meeting for the better waiverly community to talk about crime and safety. mary pat clark, state delegates and police officers will be at the meeting to answer questions. it's important to note that this meeting was already planned in advance before this shooting even happened, but you can believe that they probably will be talking about this type of violence going on in their community. r

sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> the suspect in the murder trial of an elderly pikesville couple, he has been found overdosed at hotel room in oklahoma. when police took in long to the emergency room, there was a hit on his name in the system. this suspect, long, is the victim's grand zonks vaughn and margerie pepper were found dead last week in their home. detectives traveled to oklahoma for the investigation but haven't been able to talk to long because of his current condition. >>> how far would you go to get the prized parking shot? police say an edgewood woman went too far, in a parking rage incident it happened in white marsh. linda so is live this morning, at county police headquarters. >> reporter: she got so angry over the spot, she took matters in to her hands and ended up in jail and faces first and second degree assault and bail set at a million dollars. brandy aims in edgewood got in to a fight with another woman over a parking spot outside the staples store at the avenue in white marsh. aims got back in to her car, hit the woman and pinned her against another car. that's no

sherrie johnson is live this morning. i know that early this morning, you spoke with school officials. what are they saying? >> reporter: basically later today baltimore county public school administrators are set to share ideas with top school officials about building a safety security plan in a mandatory meeting. the superintendent said it wants to beef up security and safety in the schools. this comes after two gun incidents at baltimore county school since the first day of class. in one incident, a student was shot in perryville high school. and on tuesday, a student showed up with a handgun where police said that he threatened a teacher owner students. today the leaders will lay out a safety plan and they will help the teachers and the students to understand their role in the plan. to be aware of your surroundings. if you see something, say something. and they'll have an updated support systemtor staff and students -- system for staff and students and that includes an anonymous tip line. they hope to hire a security

sherrie johnson joins us live from the police headquarters, any leads? >> reporter: detectives here with the baltimore city police department are still working on this case. right now, they don't have any leads in this case but they're hoping that people that might have seen something or heard something on monday night around 10:30 will come forward because that's the time when peter marvit was murdered. now he was left for dead right outside of his home. he had been shot several times if his head and upper body. police continue to search for the killer and his extended family gathered for a vigil to remember him through his music. he is making music, he was a singer with the baltimore choral arts society and he sang with the arts society for five years. it was outside his musical life that the national institutes of health researcher was gunned down outside of his home near herring run park. police believe he may have been the victim of a robbery. and now the choral arts will miss his voice. >> when i stood on the podium and looked a at the chorus and o
