sherrie johnson has been tracking the story all night and has the latest. sherrie. >> reporter: well, two men have stepped forward alarming accusations against the amateur athletic union. one of the largest sports organizations in america. the x-aau president is accused of molesting two former players in the 1980s. allegation brought the all american reputation ralph west says he was 15 when it happened and his memphis basketball team was on a youth league trip in 1983 when he says his coach bobby dodd came into the hotel room and sexually assaulted him. a second former player who wants to remain anonymous claims dodd molested him when he was 12 years old. >> i was dead asleep and i don't remember anything but waking up and he has his -- he is trying to put his hand in my boxer shorts. >> we are urging anyone in the aau community who has information about any instances of-appropriate behavior or abuse to contact law enforcement and the aau. >> reporter: dodd denied the allegation when confronted about "-- by officials. left the organization and police are in

sherrie johnson joins with us more and this is developing over a series of weeks. many people trying to get answers in this but still, a young man is dead and they believe this may be the result of hazing. >> reporter: it is very sad, charley. and now there's a call to action to end what they think could be hazing. julian white healed press conference sharing how he has taken a stand against hazing and says he did all he could to get rid of the practice within the highly acclaimed marching 100 band. white called on the university community to work together to restore the school's reputation. this comes after the death of 26-year-old robert champion. he was the band's drum major and died last month and police say hazing was involved. his funeral was held on wednesday. the former band director says hazing was a problem he couldn't control. now he says he asked for help from the administration for tougher punishment. four students are dismissed from florida a&m after the fallout from champion's death. another 30 students were kicked out of the band. >> one thing about

education reporter sherrie johnson is live downtown with more on this developing story. >> reporter: there's a cry across the nation to put an end to bullying and this morning one family is taking that message to court. we're in front 6 courthouse east where the trial is stoat begin in a few hours. the sullivan family filed a lawsuit against the school board of commissioners and the principals of both hazelwood and glenmount elementary school and middle schools. the parents say their 10-year-old, sean, was bullied and taunted by classmates at two baltimore city schools. sean is a special needs student. his parents say he was tormented by classmates at hazelwood elementary school and the school system did nothing about it. the couple says they went to the principal numerous times but the bullying wasn't stopped. the last straw they said was when their son was attacked outside of the school, they said he was choked until he passed out and the couple then moved their son to glenmount which was also a problem. the bullying continued and they say they received no help from administrators.

after police received a call abc2 news sherrie johnson has more on the story with new video and additional information. sherrie. >> reporter: well, i've been working the phones this morning checking in with the nurses at shock trauma and they are telling me a 38-year-old southwest baltimore man was in critical condition at last report. he was shot by a baltimore city police officer when authorities say he refused to drop a knife. a police spokesman says officers were called around 10 last night for a report of a family disturbance at a home on south morely street in the st. joseph neighborhood. officers found him in an upstairs bedroom where they say he refused to drop a knife. officers shot him several times. his sister says he suffers schizophrenia. she was not home at the time of the incident but says her brother is not prone to violence. internal affairs is investigating the case which is standard procedure. the officer involved in the shooting has not been identified. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> also last night just after 10, a fire neighbors say had flames billowing 3 feet out of

sherrie johnson has the story. we were first told no handheld cell phones, no talking. the whole thing, hands-free, all of it, forget it. >> reporter: the basic thing is they just want your eyes on the road and steering wheel and focused so we don't have to lose any more lives. basically we've been doing a little digging this morning and found texting and driving is banned in 35 states and the district, handheld cell phone use is outlawed in 10 states and district but it's not good enough. a warning shot went out from the nation's top safety officials. the ntsb put any driver who talks on a cell phone or sends a text message behind the wheel on notice. the ntsb says enough is enough already. they say states need to take action, tough action and are calling for phones to be off limits while you're in the car. this means no hands-free devices, no bluetooth and for anyone who does not comply with the penalties it could be pretty steep. distracted drivers cause 600,000 crashes and 3,000 deaths each year. the ntsb is calling this a full-fredged crisis on the nation's roads.
