we're happy to welcome back sheryl fatabani to the show.s weather yesterday, of course rain today. how do these changes as well as the pollen count affect our allergies? >> well pollen affects our allergies. one of the main reasons that many of us have sniffles and sneezing and the pollen count today is about 6.5, not too bad. it is going to go up and down with the high of 10.5 on saturday. >> now, i'm one of those who suffer from allergies. but sometimes hard to tell if you got allergies or cold. what are the signs? how would you know? >> well the way they know you have an allergy versus the cold allergies give you runny nose you feel stuffy sneezing itchy watery eyes and usually no fever. so colds are usually -- they usually come from a virus and viruses will often give you a low grade fever. that's really the key way to know whether it is an allergy or a cold. >> what can somebody do to ease some of the symptoms of these seasonal allergys? >> well many of the things you can do to ease the symptoms are really common sense measures. so if
