sheryl, thanks so much for being with me. do you believe officials know more about this shooter and motivation even though publicly they revealed yesterday he was a current employee with a badge and today saying that he quit? you know, is this typical to you? >> well, listen, there are some things that they probably won't release and they may never tell tus, and i don't know that we have a right to know, but i think there are always telltale signs, and i lived through a shooting similar to this on the lapd in a building we referred to as piper tech when an employee went on a shooting rampage. when i heard of of this shooting it immediately sounded like this person had a beef with someone. he seemed to be not indiscriminate and very specific in that he traversed three floors in a building. he was looking for folks. he was hunting for people who had wronged him, and while he may not have shared his angst with his employees, i probably bet you there's a friend, there's a family member that he came home and talked to about things

we spoke with sheryl sandberg in france. >> we know we have a lot of people to work with.s is a heavily regulated space. we need to talk to people and that is what we are doing. we are then going to launch. carol: we got more from joel wiesenthal who keeps a measured watch on the cryptocurrency world. joel: it is incredibly ambitious. if it were to gain traction, it could be a potential game changer. the closest analogy i think of is not only existing money but the android operating system and google essentially becoming a de facto platform for so much of the world. i think libra wants to do that for money. if you think of the different networks that exist, payment networks around the world, they are not interoperable. the flipside is it is going to be incredibly hard. even if they could get the execution right to and the partners right and the product is easy, dealing with financial regulations, the most tightly regulated aspect of any industry in any country around the world, and somehow navigate all of those regulatory bodies, it will be so difficult. i wonder if it'll

sheryl sandberg made the case that breaking up facebook would make it much less competitive and perhapsdisadvantage to chinese tech companies that are not facing potential breakup? is that a consideration here, competitive not just in the united states but with china? gigi: that doesn't concern me. i read that statement and frankly had to scratch my head. i didn't understand that at all. we have antitrust laws that are there to protect consumers and competition. there is bipartisan agreement and there is great concern in the consumer community that these companies have gotten too big and too powerful. again, talking about breaking up the companies at this juncture is a little bit premature. the investigations have to happen first. that may be a solution. there could be other solutions. ishink sheryl sandberg jumping the gun a little bit where there are investigations to be had and determinations to be made as to whether breaking up companies will actually help or maybe hurt? emily: certainly making an argument she believes will help her case or facebook's case. thank you for joining us.

i'm sheryl adams. i'm here to speak about the supportive housing network ask and hespa. ditto to all the great comments. i want to thank everybody the mayor and mayor's budget staff for your diligence and attention and all the work you're doing. i know it takes lot of time and appreciate diligence and the way you're going about the process. i want to speak what's going to happen if we're not able to fully fund the supportive housing network ask. that will be that there will be eight beds lost to underaged youth. there's 16-bed shelter that we operate. we will make that 8 beds. will will be 14 beds for young people under 18 who are homeless or run away. that mean we'll be turning people away. minors. the other thing that will happen is that our 35-bed transitional living program will go from 35 beds to 23 beds. that means that we will have less beds for young people going to the school that are getting a job and working their way out of homelessness and into building the lives we want all our young people to have. lastly, the relatively new program that we opened for lgbt
