cnn's shimon prokupecz is on the scene in lisbon, maine. i know that you have been talking to law enforcement and you are now physically near where the alleged gunman's vehicle was found, where law enforcement is searching and really intense ways. what are you learning? >> we were heading to the area where the car was left at the boat latch, because that's where they are going to be doing the searching. while we are on our way there, we saw the police racing to this area where we are. because they got a tip of the loud noise. people who work, this is a lettuce farm here. thought they heard a gunshot and so police swarmed this area. they were searching all back here and into the woods to make sure that there was no one in there and just a short time ago, the police chief here in lisbon came out and iniffished their searches and said they found nothing. they cleared this area. but the point of this is just to show how on edge this community is. they are calling 911 when they are seeing something, when they are hearing something, and police ar

shimon laid out the details he has been able to pull together.u look at the facts that are flknown, the details of warning signs so far from the national guardsman saying he was afraid he was going to snap, taking it to the extent that the national guard alerted local law enforcement, a welfare check that seemed to go nowhere, the family getting involved. let's start with the big and talk about the details. first and foremost, did something go wrong here? >> yes. yes. i mean, at the most base level, let's just start from something we will all understand, when you get somebody who has been referred to your department because they are hearing voices, they might snap and commit a mass shooting and they are armed and potentially dangerous and you get this report, there are only two possible outcomes to your investigation, number one, everybody is wrong, he is absolutely fine, there is no mental issues. or number two, it's not good, he has been in a mental institution, he does have arms and he won't meet with us. then you kick it upstairs. you get mov

shimon prokupecz is also on the scene. we have two different angles on this from two different teams on the ground. shimon, talk a little bit about what we know about this suspect and what we know about this location that they are at. >> right. so this is believed to be one of the residences of the home of the suspect. and at this point, based on the way law enforcement is behaving, the way they're conducting is they don't feel that there is any kind of imminent danger, right. they don't believe that there are any hostages inside. they don't believe anyone inside, at least at this point just on the way their posture and what they're doing, they're not even 100% certain that there is even anyone inside. and they're certainly not certain that it is a suspect. but everything that we're seeing here is to a high degree just precautions, because they know if this is the suspect, they're dealing with a potentially very dangerous situation, someone who is trained, someone who perhaps will put up a fight. right now for them it's ab
