i want to bring back in shimon prokupecz. shimon, you are continuing to look through this. what else are you learning about who is named in this? >> now we have a reference here, kaitlan, to donald trump. this is also coming from a deposition of johanna sjoberg. she was an employee of jeffrey epstein, and according to her deposition, which was released, that she said she recalled a time she was with jeffrey epstein on one of his planes, and the pilots had said that he needed to land in atlantic city. and then she says that jeffrey said great, we'll call up trump, and we'll go to -- and then she says she doesn't remember the name of the casino in atlantic city, but we'll go to the casino. she also then says that in her deposition, there was a question about whether she had any inappropriate contact or relationship with trump, and she says that she never gave a massage to trump. so here we're seeing donald trump's name now. of course, as i mentioned earlier, former president bill clinton, and that continues as we continue to look through the documents to see what other promin

see individuals in big cities, new york, and chicago and denver, we had a great report from shimon prokupecz earlier in the show where democrats, progressive voters are seeing the impact of this migrant crisis in their own cities? >> well, two things can be true at the same time. and so what i think is important to point out is that there is a way to solve this problem. the question is who is going to get it solved and who is going to be obstructionist to stop it. i think what democrats are going to be doing is saying exactly what nia malika was saying, we want to solve electroit, but th republicans are preventing us from getting to a solution. i think the policies are coming to the front doors of cities that have typically not been having larger populations of migrants crossing the border because of the tactics that have happened. but there is also another component to this, we know immigrants are important to our economy. they do pay into social security and so there is a balance that the biden campaign is going to have to play where the coalition is fragile because you don't want to go to

. >> my colleague, shimon prokupecz, has done so much reporting on this.e's been on the ground for a long period of time trying to bring a lot of this to light. and he's talked about how this whole tragedy and the failure afterward has divided the community. what do you think it will take to help them heal, to bring the community back together? >> you know, kate, it's a real -- it is a problem. shimon is correct. the community is divided. and you have a district attorney that's not helping because she's got to pull this band aid off and she's got to go after the people she has to go after. she refuses to do so. because i think that in order to do so, she also has to go after the department of public safety, a few texas rangers, and a few other people. and i don't think that she is ready for that in this community. but at some point, you have to bring justice and you have to send this message because it's the only way you're ever going to have accountability. it's the only way you're ever going to create change. and so far, we have had zero accountability.

i mean, shimon prokupecz, of course, has done a lot of the work that has exposed some of the shortcomings more than 300 officers stood outside for 77 minutes before this gunman was finally stopped. and of course, that's what the justice department review is now looking at. what we are told is that they've looked at 13,000 pieces of evidence. they've interviewed more than 200 people, they've talked to some of the people who responded that day. they looked at some of the interviews those people have provided, so they've done all of that. they visited the school, they've walked that horrible hallway that we've now seen some of that police response video. and look, this is going to be a very, very difficult day for the families in uvalde have had to deal with, obviously, for more than a year, a lot of their questions still unanswered. a lot of the things that went wrong that day still a part of the problem. we now have heard from the justice department, they've confirmed that they are going to release this report on thursday and one of the things that we expect to come from this is, you know,

i want to go straight to shimon prokupecz, who's been going through the documents.ou're talking about 40 documents, hundreds and hundreds of pages. what are you finding so far? >> reporter: the team is going through this certainly. and a lot of this relate to this lawsuit that was brought in 2015 by one of the victims against jeopardy seen's former girlfriend, ghislaine maxwell, who was convicted back in '21 for sex trafficking and essentially aiding jeffrey epstein in the sexual assaults of these women. so, this lawsuit was brought back in 2015 against ghislaine maxwell. and just now, the court is unsealing all this. and really it's because of the fight by victims and journalists, in this case, specifically "the miami herald," which has been fighting for this information. and finally today, we're first seeing these documents. and as you said, it's hundreds and hundreds of pages. and it all relates to depositions and other court actions that the victim in this case, virginia giuffre, was doing. she was doing stuff to try to get information to substantiate her allega
