so i so appreciate the work that bishop shirley has done and her team here. they're demonstrating in real ways how you affect real lives and lift people up and get them out of poverty. there's an amazing organization in my area in georgia, in the atlanta area, called georgia works. in a unique way they're addressing homelessness and poverty and criminal residism and -- recidivism. and they do it person-to-person, one individual at a time and making sure we are providing the needs for that individual which are different than the one before. we need to incentivize those programs that work, that are responding positively to people's needs and helping folks get back on their feet. we ought to and we can do a better job making certain we provide for those in need. i hope that this report right here, this "better way," which is really an outline of how we can move forward in a positive way and make certain we decrease the number of americans living in poverty, i hope that this will be the beginning of a positive discussion on the positive changes that are necessary
