so i went back to that that i had learned about angela davis and about so many sothers, about shirley chisholm and about harriet tubman. i went back to that andwas able to see myself in them a whole different way . that helped me over the years but also i kind of had to put it on the back burner for a while, caring about how i was feeling and my focus turns to keeping my son alive and raising my daughter, keeping d my daughter safe so it turned into that and so that way for years just like hyper focused on that but it was just this movement after michael brown waskilled in 2014, it was the movement building . it was learning together that we put so much back into one another. so whether we're fighting to get accountability for every single person that lost their lives at the hands of police, we were fighting for ourselves and i was able to see this is what you need because i understand you as a black girl. because sandra bland was a blackwoman . because we got to remember that we can get lost in this conversation like you've got to be holding to. >> exactly. so this fitsnicely to what i want t
