topper shutt is tracking showers and thunderstorms in our area. >> reporter: they are increasing in coverage and also in intensity. earlier most of the storms are south. there is still good storms. severe weather fredericksburg or south. these storms have begun to fire up in how much of loud -- in much of loudoun county. there is a warning on these storms. port royal you are under severe thunderstorm warning. king george until 6:15. this has hail in it and ve heavy rains. street flooding is possible. let's talk about these storms now. this is on the other side of the river. just the last 15 minutes. heavy rain leesburg. again we are looking at rainfall rates probably over an inch per hour. and some big time rains even down 50. upperville is also several of these storms are pretty hefty. lightning is increasing too in this storm as you drop down south. and we are looking at heavy rain. especially around leadsville and also essentially south of leesburg proper. heading toward ashburg junction. we will track this for you. maybe toward orange town by 6:32. and lake wood by 6:45. we'll come back
