>> that's exactly right, and i think that's something we sort of realized watching these is sicknick arrives at essentially the extreme south end of this very lightly defended police line. and as you can see in the video he's wearing his bike helmet and in his blue uniform. he's a bike cop at the time. he's essentially last minute reinforcements rushing in to protect this police line. and when the video starts there's maybe five officers down there on the south end of the line facing off against scores of rioters. and then as the video continues the mob grows and grows and grows and these capitol police officers are essentially left hanging on the extreme flank of this line. and you can see they're not wearing face protection, they're not wearing helmets, not wearing riot gear. they're extremely vulnerable. >> yes this is precisely what i found was so striking about the video you present is that they're vulnerable, "a," and "b," this question as we saw it unfold in realtime how did this happen? how did these people manage to overwhelm the defenses of what you would assume is one of t

that's the picture of officer sicknick. >> right. right. that's officer sicknick.y're charged now with assault on sicknick and two, additional officers. according to the fbi, the -- the affidavit from the fbi in court today. they are seen, in video, on surveillance video, as well as some other body-worn camera images that they were able to retrieve. using some kind of spray. some kind of chemical irritant. >> just for our viewers. that -- that -- where there is a red rectangle over one of them. and then, i guess, the other one is the guy there, in the hat, off to the -- to the right-hand side. >> right. and the guy in the hat appears -- appears to be tanios. he is -- he owns a sandwich shop in west virginia. helpfully, for the fbi, he wore a shirt that has the logo of -- of the sandwich shop that he runs. and so, what you see in some of these images, anderson, is the attack according to the fbi, in which they are using some kind of chemical-irritant spray. i'm told that is some kind of bear spray. i will read you just a part of what the fbi says, in the -- in the a

sicknick died a day later.ey wild is live in washington with more for us on these arrests and the charges. whitney, good morning. >> reporter: erica, good morning to you. this represents a major break in the case prosecutors have spent weeks pouring over photos and video trying to figure out the moment that officer sicknick might have sustained those fatal injuries and also who caused it. now we know there are two men who have been arrested for assaulting not only officer sicknick but two other officers. they're accused of spraying some sort of chemical irritant at these officers, all of that was caught on body camera video, but it was tipsteres, someone out in the public, maybe somebody watching at this very moment, who helped the fbi solve this case. these two men are now facing nine charges. these are charges of violence, charges of assault. however, in the search for justice for officer brian sicknick, there is a bit of a footnote here, erica. there's actually no mention of officer sicknick's death in these
