winter storm warning up for the sierra through 4:00 a.m. friday. jeff is it. >> unbelievable. 98-mile-per-hoin morning we are seeing that storm move out but we're going to still keep the forecast as a chance of rain at 8:002349 morning. in the north bay this is a different disturbance that would keep a chance of rain at 2:00 in the afternoon p i small chance of afternoon thunderstorms. what about the wind? that's been a big problem for us. it is still breezy to gusty tomorrow. 10 to about 20 miles per hour even into the evening hours. so even though it's not going to be as windy tomorrow we still may have more power outages and more trees that could come down. let's bring you that extended forecast. we do get a break in here after tomorrow's rain chance and a quarter to a half inch, dryer weather by friday and saturday. another little chance here on sunday. trace amounts about a quarter of an inch. no problem with that. then more sunshine monday, tuesday, also into wednesday. key temps in the 50s and 60s right here across those inland valleys. and

winter storm warnings are posted in the sierra. can't emphasize enough, the national weather service itself is saying mountain travel not recommend tonight because of the heavy snow. 10 to 36 inches on the way. winds to 60 an hour at the peak. that's rough stuff to drive in. wind speeds now have eased up somewhat in the bay area. still mostly out of the west, southwest, on the order of 10 to 20 an hour, lightening up in the north bay, but the winds will be picking up. if you look at the future cast on the winds, by tonight, at 11:00, they all relax into either calm or single-digit wind figures for the most part. but then here comes the wind field, ramping up again tomorrow. so expect it to get windy midday yet again in the bay area, and probably more rain than we got with this one. so the wind and the showers ease up overnight. but that's just by way of setting the stage for what's going to happen again on sunday. more run and more wind. blustery, unsettled weather continues. and it won't be done sunday either. showers on monday an
