but look at all those lightning strikes in the sierra nevada.e've had thunderstorms day after day. and once again today, we could see some of those 234r5ird flar. but slightly cooler weather in our inland valleys today and a significant cooldown as we head toward the weekend. visibility 6 to 8 miles from petaluma to half moon bay. a look outside being you may need your morning in the city. 60 in san jose. and looking at numbers in the north bay, in the low 50s. east bay upper 50s to near 60. so fog for our commute this morning, hot again in the afternoon. cooler and windier over the weekend with fire concerns as we get into the latter part of saturday and into sunday. so throughout the day today, we'll have the typical breeze, but it has been quite gusty at the shoreline. that continues and we'll see low 90s inland. how about 65 downtown, 76 in san rafael, 82 in fremont, 87 in san jose and the 7 day forecast shows the cooler and windier day tomorrow. and by sunday, it will be quite a turnaround, feeling like fall, just 70s and 80s. and into earl

in the sierra you will see some big cloud buildups once again. this is just within the past two hours. you can see rapid development with thunderstorms from south lake tahoe and points south. coming closer to home we have the fog in the onshore breeze keeping a check on the temperature. if we didn't have the fog there wo across the entire and even portions of san francisco. it is extending in the bay closer to the marina and berkeley and emeryville. a layer of warm hot air above our heads is compressing that marine layer. that is why we are talking about dense fog. here is a live camera with current readings out there. 78, in santa rosa. san jose, 80. what's happening there is the fog trying to press down on that marine layer. we have that layer of warm air compressing and impacting visibility near the immediate coastline. overnight lows in the 50s and the 60s. even right around probably fair your way inland. this big area of high pressure has been interior neighborhoods tomorrow, not a big change. the high is expected to back off as we head towa
