in addition to the flames, smoke is also a big problem in the sierra this morning. some people have been posting photos online, showing just how much visibility has been reduced to near that fire zone. the smoke is also blink. it'd lake tahoe or the air quality on the north shore is being described as hazardous. and an air quality advisory for the bay area expired at midnight because of smoke drifting from fires burning as far away as north as far north as oregon, our cameras captured images of a little bit of haze in the sky and multiple parts of the bay area. yesterday, we had some of that smoke move into the bay area late last week, but then shifting winds moved it clear for now. alright 4. 16 is a time saw a lot of that unhealthy air quality over the weekend, the tahoe area in particular, roberta, how's the how are the conditions and definitely improving, so it's a good question to ask, but let's go ahead and show you on our map, but it looks like from above, according to our satellite imagery that air quality advisory now allowed to expire, but you could see by

shower shower activity in the sierra around the mosquito fire, kind of a goldilocks range where it was enough to make a bit of difference but it was not heavy enough to result in any mudslide mudslide or debris flow concerns. the smoke over the baa bay area was ascending air quality into the moderate categy today. that is where it still stands for most of the bay area. area. onshore wind will help us out dispersing some of the smoke smoke which we are tracking with with this forecast model through through the depth of the atmosphere, not just at ground . ground level. but, the smoke further up which results in haze haze on the horizon. onshore breeze kicking in with clearer skies gradually as we headed through the day tomorrow. some of the smoke from up north in oregon and washington gets blown blown out over the pacific and takes a circuitous route to make make its way back into the bay area. i think by thursday and friday, some of that is going to to be returning to the bay area skies, but at ground level, i think the air quality will get worse than the moderate category category as

of course, we've got the mosquito fires in the sierra foothills. they have seen over 2 inches of rain in around that fire. and that is great news for firefighters. us in go a long way to help them out this afternoon turned out to be a very active afternoon. we had numerous lightning into concord, also into livermore. now the system is pushed a little further to the north and the east you see right here, numerous strikes here just the last 15 minutes. these are all the lightning strikes being picked up our monitor here. you can see that near calusa yuba city. some very heavy rainfall associated with that as well. flash flood watches and warnings that have been posted been taken down in that area but still very you can certainly see some pummeling out there on the roadways. and there comes another lightning strike right now near arbuckle. and yet more of that on the way. i think for tomorrow, too, not only there, but just to the north lake county. look at hidden valley lake boy, very heavy storms coming through in the afternoon. clearlake seeing the
