we see the flooding on the rivers in the eastern sierra as well. likely that has been relatively localized -- likely that has been relatively level -- localized. over time the flooding should get less severe. it is unlikely to continue to the entire summer. for the foreseeable future it will be around. kristen: what are some of the sites we are experiencing or not experience and because of this happening? >> realistically we are experiencing a lot of good recreation that will be going into the summer as we have rivers, once they pull back a little bit on their intensity, will be great for rafting and kayaking on. right now as far as the mountains and snowpack themselves we still have plenty of white on the ground. we are missing a bit of that green would ordinarily have by this time of year. we will have great recreation and great water going forward. hopefully we will keep the snowpack around as long as possible. kristen: do you expect more epic snow seasons in the near future? >> it is hard to tell. we are switching to an el niÑo pattern. especia

, central sierra, and southern sierra.te as a whole is at 126% of what is normal on april 1st in terms of the water content of the sierra snow. if you want to compare apples to apples, may 23rd, 313% of normal. three times what the normal water content of the sierra snow pack is for this date is still up there. it has not melted yet, which means we are going to have to be concerned with that flooding potential down slope of all of that snow. things are heading in the right direction in the yosemite valley. the river has crested at its highest appointment, just over 12 feet, as we mentioned with that sound bite from the ranger, and it's going to stay in flood stage for a couple days but gradually drop more because temperatures have backed off a little bit. not just in that part of california, around the bay area as well. near or slightly below normal for our high temperatures tomorrow. feeling more like mid-april as opposed to late may. temperatures should bounce back towards memorial day weekend. some haze out there this a

over the sierra, specifically into thursday, we're looking at .25 to .50 for the sierra. also a bit for the mountains just to the north of the bay area. so we are expected to stay dry in the forecast through tomorrow, but we'll have fog to start. however, the fog does not look as extensive as it has been lately. a mix of sun and few clouds for the north bay, your best start. fog over the east bay peninsula and south bay. then look at this. tomorrow afternoon, we should have some of the most sunshine we have seen in days, even for parts of the coast. north bay, east bay, south bay, even right there for some of the peninsula. so not a bad day coming our way as we roll through our wednesday forecast tomorrow. we'll start with 53 over the peninsula. san francisco 52. north bay right there at 50. highs tomorrow staying below average, but i've got to tell you, best weather winning out in the south bay. how about it, 75 there in east san jose. east bay, 74 in livermore. 70 martinez. 68 hayward. the peninsula, 70 in redwood city. san francisco 63 in the mission. north bay, 74 in
