you're talking avalanche up in the sierra nevada.e going to be seeing some fresh snowfall up there in the days to come. and as that happens, you do see. >> a little bit of a mixture of that fresh snow. the more packed in stuff underneath that can result in some really loose stuff up there and that potential of avalanches. as for what you're going to experience an 80 know avalanches there. but you are going to be seeing some really snow packed roads starting tomorrow morning. that's we do have winter storm warnings going into effect up there starting tonight at 10:00pm. so if you need to travel up there, do so today before the snow gets there tomorrow morning. as for radar right now, it's clear and dry for the bay area. but look at what we've got to our north. that snowfall in the cascades of washington, oregon, snow into the northern rockies yesterday were seen it coming down hard in both utah and colorado. the sierra close behind those areas to our north and east that have already been seeing. it's a piling up. let's time it all out

one this drop in the sierra nevada. so you got to bring all your warm weather gear if you're headed up there and here goes model starting to pick up on that. moving in monday into tuesday, bringing an ice cold snow. and that's going to really drop the snow levels there across the sierra nevada. and then behind that, there's a chance of another storm system bringing another round of more snow as we head in toward thursday and friday and probably another one after theft of the weekend. so these are kind of lining up up there. if you're doing any travel in the high country here in the coming days. be prepared. you're likely go to see the storm systems rolling on through right now. it is a dry up. there's could we do have a cold front that is just beginning to enter the state. but the main thing from that cold front there. that's really going to break down the ridge of high pressure that's brought to the record breaking temperatures around the bay or last couple of days. things are going to start to cool down that will open

we've got more on the way as a series of storms likely to impact the sierra nevada. and of course, the bay area too out there right now. we've got winter storm warnings there in effect until 11 o'clock on wednesday evening. and yeah, going to see several inches of snow tonight. and then when you start out of totals, maybe over a foot of snow above 7,000 feet. so watching that in the high country, if you're traveling up there and the next day and a half, you've got to be going up there, even as the main front is going to move on through. you can see they're getting the bulk of the snow now, but then it becomes more scattered snow showers and you'll see this pop up. snow showers and see that ramp up again. so if you head up there tomorrow, don't expect things to be just wide open and clear. you may run into some delays just because of that snow up there as well behind that things begin to tail off just a little bit into thursday. we'll catch a little bit of a break, but there's another storm on the way that will impact the weekend. snow showers in the forecast for tomo
