we've got a much of the sierra nevada. now a look at some flood advisories and those will continue until next monday. 09:00am. so we've got a ways to because we'll see how that the water rolling down some of the creeks and tributaries. so something to watch out for, especially if you're traveling in that direction, you plan to go up there. do some some of those rivers. they are running very high and very cold. you've got to be extra careful this year. this is much different than previous years when we didn't have much snow pack in parts of the central valley, they're seeing some flooding there along the kings river. that flood warning has now been extended all the way until friday. this is played out over the last few weeks. it- will likely be extended again as they're releasing water from the reservoir. is there to try and reservoir from the impact all that snow coming down the mountains about this on the san joaquin river. also looking at flood advisories there that will continue until friday at 10:00am. so this really k

we could get there but it looks like we are getting into a much drier weather regime for the sierra nevada for the second half of the work week. 51 in oakland. upper 40's santa rosa. 49 in san francisco. 50 on the coast. a mild morning with cloudy skies. a few spotty showers. a breeze throughout the afternoon. it will stay windy and cooler on monday and tuesday with overnight lows. chilly. it will take throughout the day until 3:00 from 25 to perhaps 30 miles an hour and will continue through the evening. we have that system that will really keep us in this pattern for the next several days. here is a look at your hour by hour sunday. a mix of clouds and sun. we have a few spotty showers taking us through monday. that cold northwesterly flow will allow for those cold mornings into tuesday and then it is all behind us. if we add up the rainfall totals through monday night, it does not amount to much but we certainly will feel the chill. much colder than average. as we look at your tuesday, this is when we turn around. upper 50's to low 60's. wednesday we are in the 60's. thursday upper 60's

we now flood advisories going across much of the sierra nevada, watching local creeks and streams and rivers there with the possibility of flooding all the way into monday of next week. that will likely be extended to as that snow continues to melt. they are releasing a lot of water from the reservoirs in parts of the central valley of the kings river watching for flood warnings there that will continue until friday at 10:00am. and this has been an ongoing situation. they've continued after release a lot of the water there just because of all the snow melt coming down the mountains and as those temperatures warm up now there's going to be more snow melt and so issues. they're also along the san joaquin river. we've had problems longer said river as well. that's going to be ongoing. these temperatures just beginning to warm up highs tomorrow and around central valley. look at 85 in sacramento. 81 in fresno, 81 in bakersfield. so you get the idea you got the snow melt going across the sierra nevada and those temperatures will continue to rise numbers out the door right now. we've got so

cnn's stephanie elam has more from the sierra nevada mountains.right now we're going to see it in snow from almost nothing to record setting snow depths. 1 27, california's current snowpack in the sierra nevada is one of the largest ever one that couldn't be more opposite from last year . this is the fourth wettest in terms of snow water content going back to 1941 the snowpack , which the state says accounts for about 30% of its water supply in an average year. measure the depth of more than 126 inches for an astonishing 221% of the april 1st average near lake tahoe melted down that's the water equivalent of 54 inches. april is generally when the snowpack hits its peak before the spring melt off and is thus the basis of the state's water supply forecast. there have only been three other years. where are april snowpack has been greater than 200% of average in april, are statewide , automated. no sensory network is reporting 237% of average and stark contrast only 2.5 inches of snow were measured in april, 2022 containing the equivalent of just one
