going to be a big rain making time for the bay area as well as a big snow making time up in the sierra nevada. speaking of snow, the central and southern sierra south of yosemite will see winter storm warnings going into effect tomorrow. winter weather advisory. so a little bit of a lesson to impact there for northern parts of the sierra nevada. you are likely to see blowing snow and drifting snow on roads and do expect chain controls. but we are likely d% going to see roadway staying open, multiple feet of snowfall, not just out of this next system, but when you pair it with what we see on monday of next week. southern parts of the state really, really need this rain. so it's actually nice to be talking a major impact for southern neighbors, bay area by comparison. we're a lot closer to normal for this time of year 50's to 60's for your daytime highs today. while looking ahead, we do see temperatures remaining steady through thursday. we have a nice weekend spike in temps that will be earned by friday and saturday with that sunshine before cooling back down early next week. reyna. >> it is 8

we've got more winter storms that are bearing down not only california, but the sierra % nevada impact expecting appears us know on and off throughout this week. and i think probably well into next week. larger storms too. this week, that snow level going running at about 5,000 feet, going to see maybe 4, maybe 8 inches of snow about 5,000 feet. means you can be a cotton, some of that. if you're traveling over the mountain passes 8 to 14 inches of snow above 6,000. so more than a foot of snow there, slick roads, possible delays chain controls are likely on and off throughout the week. so you got to check the weather before you go last. 24 hours. you can see some of that snow kind of winding down in the high country and catch a little bit of a break. we're eing that right now. it's just check on some of the road conditions so far. so good things tailing off now, as far as precipitation and the snow and well looks like the temperature to be very cold. and that's good news. if you like to ski on that stuff, not going to get that slushy conditions like spring-like weather like we had last
