silicon valley. however, on the other side of this equation, some of donald trump's maga base say, hey, we immigrants. we want to deport people and close the border. and that's what this clash is aut over the last few days. on where else? twitter, is debate has been raging back and forth between some of the techies in trump's camp saying, no, no, no. we need to bring in qualified immigrants to help run tech companies and those in his base who would say, no, we really don't. we should be american first and take care of americans before we bring in other people. so it's really an interesting debate. that is just something that silicon valley and the bay area hasn't seen all that much before, because we are not only used to having a very healthy immigrant population, but really dependent on it for the tech industry. and now these two sides are really clashing. has president elect trump or elon musk weighed in on this, this rift? so elon musk has and he's sort of even backtracked. at first he was saying

well, we all know it is the hottest technology in silicon valley, but now a silicon valley city actually wants to put it to use to help the city run better. i, of course, here's our business and tech reporter, scott budman. moving traffic faster. there's a machine app for that. well, this technology is being built right here in silicon valley. and san jose brought ai related companies together to help solve its problems. object detection. knowing when a pothole is forming before it damages your vehicle and proactively fixing it. identifying graffiti and illegal dumping. sensing when a when a street light is out and getting it fixed before it inconveniences someone. even helping busses run more on time. it's technology, but it's also academic. san jose state university is on board with the plan. i the convergence of technologies are more rapid and they will provide more change than all of humanity has seen up to this point. so we have to be focused on preparing that workforce for the future. and tech companies say there's big money in using ai to help cities run more efficiently that way.
